It is so unconventional compared to most forums. It is weird that a new window opens when you are going to post, fonts are a little too small,etc The website itself is great, only the forum seems off.

We've been saying that the forum needs fixes for years.
And years.
And years.
I'm pretty sure they told GOG this back when the forum was still new, even. They simply can't be bothered to care about the place.

If they redisgn it there will be an uproar "the old forum was so much better" ;)

Sure. I'm not exactly sure what should change though.

Although I suppose it'd mostly just be a series of fixes:
- fix the search function
- fix the rep issues
- fix the reply notifications
- fix the page bug
- fix the "mark as solved" bug
And that's not even covering the amount of functionality this place is lacking which could be added. Even cookie-cutter forum systems like FreeForums have more capabilities than this.

Or Neogaf. Or 4chan. But I think we'd want to look more like Neogaf than 4ch.

A few off the top of my head.
Working search function, working post history function. Quotes not breaking if too many. Getting error message if one of your quotes has an error rather than infinite load and not posting at all.

Yeah, those are fixes. Not overhauls.

For GOG, the only way they'd ever get off their collective butts and fix it IS an overhaul.

Which is why I'm thinking about the bigger overhaul picture. What would change?

Realistically? It'd probably look nicer yet be even more broken than before.

Okay, but like what? Gnome? KDE? Enlightenment?
