Until 2 months ago, coming to GOG after visiting Steam felt like coming back home.

Today, I realised that visiting Steam after visiting GOG feels like home.

I also noticed a change in the shortcuts in the Chrome start page that are chosen out web sites I visit the most: GOG is gone and Steam is there now.

I can't believe that the site I supported all those years, that I promoted anywhere possible, did that to me. GOG moved on, I think I should too.

I also have to voice my opinion on this new website design.

It's terrible!!!!!!!!!

None of the drop down menus on the main page work anymore.

It's a pain to login now as there is no login link on the main page.

The search feature no longer works on the main page.

The whole layout and functionality of the main page is, at best, undesirable.

Once you get past the front page, it does get a little easier to navigate, but it used to be so much better. It's a shame too. I'm not a Steam fan and loved it when I found GOG a few years ago. Now I'm not quite so enthused about buying games here, or at least checking out what's available.
If I read about a game I'm interested in on a forum, I would still stop by GOG and see if it's available, but I won't be checking the site near as much as I used to, since it's such a pain to navigate through.

Edit 1: I stand corrected on the 3 issues I mentioned above about the main page. I just tried it in a different browser and they work.
That doen't change the way I feel about the new design though.

I've been a big fan of a lot of the new features GOG has pushed forward, but I liked when they were opt in. Profiles, achievements, expanded friends capabilities and Galaxy are all awesome features. This new website design is jarring and I much prefer the simplicity of the old website. It would be nice if they baked those changes into Galaxy first and gathered some info before pushing it to the entire community.

i actually enjoyed writing reviews here. but some of my reviews have disappeared since the format change. for every new feature i notice, i realize twice as many more inconveniences or problems going on. i'd rather we have an option for the older look. maybe have a "classic" button for those of us frustrated with this new format.

love gog. will always be my #1 place to shop as long as drm-free philosophy is in place. but fix the site please...

If we're talking about the new layout that GOG has completely renovated its website into, I honestly don't mind it. However, if we were to talk about GOG Galaxy, I'm afraid I'll have to refrain myself from giving any opinion on the subject as I have always been downloading my games via GOG Downloader.

One thing that I find to be quite annoying about GOG's website's new layout is how every single individual game page which consists of its respective downloadable contents, have been designed in a way to promote its DLCs not only once, but twice. What I mean by this is how you can clearly see on the right side of the game page the DLCs that the game has, while having to still encounter those same DLCs as you scroll towards the review section of the game at the bottom of the page. Not only that I find the whole thing to be rather absurd, it definitely takes the time of the users to scroll down longer in order to finally reach the bottom of the page, knowing that all the game boxes have been made bigger in terms of their size in the new layout of the website.

Ever since the new design was implemented, I have started to visit GOG less frequently. I really miss the look and feel of the old design, even though it had some problems too. This new design, however, is uninspired, not functional, too mobile/video-based and slower.

With mandatory VR browsing for that authentic futuristic feel.

The only thing I think GOG should've avoided were Early Access titles

And smart developers don't make their titles Early Access.

If you look at the reviews for EA games on Steam, the fact that any reviews have been posted is proof that most people don't understand the concept of 'Alpha' and discredit the games years before they are completed

This has resulted in many developers having to jump ship on games that would've been ace another four years from now.

And to make it feel closer to the original 1988's Cyberpunk, they'll use it this for reference.

It's been nearly a month now, and even though some said we would get used to the new layout within two weeks, well, nope. It took me five days to realise that Army Men World War had been released, and I visit the website every day.

And no, I don't need any fugging video-playing mouse-over when all I want to do is click on the goddamn link to a game's page.

And yes, I have noticed pages load significantly slower.

And no, the best place to display the news is not the bottom of the front page!

And yes, putting light grey "in library" signs over a light grey background makes one wonder whether anyone took even a glancing look at the new layout and said "Yep, this is all right!"

And yes, if navigating the store (of all places, of a company priding itself as taking ease of use as something serious) remains such a ridiculous, cumbersome experience, I may switch shops.

I would also like to voice some concerns over the new design as it is getting increasingly harder to get information on games and promos.
Performance is the primary issue and it has been documented multiple times that the longer a potential buyer waits for a page to load, the less likely he is to buy or even stays on the website. The logical conclusion can easily be drawn from there.

Nevertheless, I remain a customer of this store that brought me much satisfaction these last years and hope that the results of the Halloween sales will induce changes promptly.

I'm going to quote myself here: That was four weeks ago.

I want to be really clear about this: I hate clients and right now that's the major (maybe only) reason I'm even still here. I want to shop here.

But this is getting ridiculous.

It would be one thing if people were just whining about aesthetics. But that's not the case, the functionality's going down the drain, as well. Not to mention that re-activating the Thronebreaker banner on release was blatantly taking the piss.

And I'm not going to lie, with the Galaxy development and the recent Twitter drama, you give the impression that you're capable of paying attention, just not to the rabble in the forums, that not only marches towards 900 posts of complaints as well as constructive criticism (and there has been a lot of that), but also at this point actively posts work arounds for this mess.

Real talk here: are you guys okay? It's fine if there's, I don't know, major restructuring or whatever, and that's why we have this clown fiesta now. It happens. I'll go buy a game, if it helps.

But I need something here. Because the way things are going right now just isn't good enough.

Edit: also to clarify; I don't mean to be difficult. I'm actually worried.
