It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

WebJunkie: At leastl Steam still works! Having never bought from them for over 2 years (which will now change) their steam client just 'works'.

Cavalary: Wouldn't know and wouldn't care about clients (and I guess Galaxy works for browsing GOG too? another thing I wouldn't know or care about), but it's not just Steam. Just did a quick check, just seeing whether anything appears broken, whether I can browse catalog, get to game pages from it or add something to cart, and Steam, Itch, FireFlower, Zoom, Humble, GamersGate, Origin and UPlay all worked (granted, no account on Steam, Zoom, GG, Origin or UPlay and not signed in on FF, but that didn't seem to bother them, only Origin popping up the log in or sign up page, rest being happy to add to cart and sort out login later). GOG doesn't. That should kill any argument that the browser can't be worked with anymore, even when talking specifically of a gaming site, eh?
Only browse Steam occasionally and it's the only client I have installed! As soon as Galaxy is forced down your throat and made mandatory I will ask for my account o be deleted! Wouldn't care about those other sites you go to, and since I won't buy from EA or UBI I won't have to install their garbage clients either! Steam web page works fine too in IE11 so can buy from Steam using web or client, only GOG then seems unable to code a functional website!

How can you say such a bad and unproven thing about GOG?

Yeah, seen that before, GOG is so fully compliant to the point of giving too many errors. Just shows they don't code to any standard other than non-standard!

WebJunkie: Has GOG some sort of vendetta against people using IE11?
The obvious solution is - as in my working field - "install google chrome, other browsers are not supported" because the web "developers" are only using this browser and are to lazy to test their stuff in other browsers till the point they actively complain that they have to.

Today I decided against my better judgement to visit a bit their offerings - ugh, the autoplay on scroll over is really bad, but the worst is that the embedded youtube player grabs the keyboard focus. So once one of the videos is playing you cannot use your cursor keys to scroll through the web page ...

So you didnt readt his bit:

"And no, I won't be installing another browser thank you, tried Chrome/Firefox and did not like using them so they won't be making a re-appearance anytime soon and luckily Edge was removed from my version of Windows 10 LTSB :) "

It's only GOG that seems to have issues, so no biggie, I don't NEED to use GOG so there's no NEED to install any other browser just for one site that can't get it's shit together!!

It's not just IE. My not-up-to-date version of Firefox (which I won't update due to addon compatibility) doesn't work either. Now that the anniversary thing is over, the only working part on the main page disappeared. In addition to news not showing, prices not showing, arrows not working etc...even the drop down menu at the top stopped working (including the search function). Furthermore, my "account" is no longer listed either. At least it's still fine on the forum page, until they completely screw that up as well, I guess.

It feels like they are trying to emulate window 8; who would want to do that?

Why the GIANT banners at the top?

Why do I have to scroll down to the bottom just to see the news?

Where did all the text go for news descriptions?

Do they think their player base can't read and must have pretty pictures/videos to understand things?

Personally, I don't care about the curated collections at all and would rather be able to hide them (many are just raw searches with filters, not even curates -.-; did they think we wouldn't notice?) On that note, I liked there old layout (except for the giant window at the top for new games that appeared from time to time). I also already miss the simple tab that had all the games that were for sale, I don't really want to use the search function just for that.

Anyways, that's my ramble on the layout.
it all feels business as usual to me, I am not perceiving any deviation from my usual encounter--whatever you are describing seems to be purely subjective.

sorry for your sub-optimal experience but, consider client-side remedies

Not yet, but that is the player base they hope to attract.

Wait, there isn't a link to the weekly sale on the new frontpage?
Why would they think that is a good idea?

I mean, sure, there's the 'on sale' section, but that doesn't show everything at once or separates between owned and not owned.
Galaxy user here (latest Windows). I cannot see at all neither the 'on sale' section nor the 'news' one
Where is list of all software houses?

The new site provides very few information and made my eyes bleed.
