- updates are quite late, and moslty due to gog.com fault
- gog.com has such a small interesting rpg titles, and most of them I own here or on steam
- gog.com hasn't had nice sale for quite a while

Only thing good about gog.com are fair price package you get as wallet funds.

Same reason to buy on any store. Because they give you (personal you) the best deal. If another store gives you (again, personal you) a better deal (with whatever criteria you use), use that store instead.
Only thing good about gog.com is DRM-free.
Otherwise I would never buy games here.

Unfortunately yes, reasons are diminishing. For your points specifically:
- updates are quite late, and mostly due to gog.com fault
Actually, a lot of delays are down to galaxy, classic installers are delayed for that. Much the same as missing linux versions.
- gog.com has such a small interesting rpg titles, and most of them I own here or on steam
Yep, good releases are getting fewer and further between
- gog.com hasn't had nice sale for quite a while
Yep, they have gone the same way as other stores, high prices, then have 1% off sales every second of every day rather than pricing well in the first place.
- Only thing good about gog.com are fair price package you get as wallet funds.
I don't see wallet as a good thing, nor is regional pricing - which is what fair price is about.

There is still the main reason for buying games here, and that is the ability - in most cases - to download your files and keep them yourself. This is still the only key selling point, but like everything is being eroded slowly.
They never were an archive store, sure lots of old games, but that was just an easy sales pitch to look different from steam.
The team, and the forum is still better compared to others.
I suspect that Cyberpunk will push them further towards run of the mill same as all other stores, with more online only requirements etc. this i snot GOGs fault as such, success has overcome CDproject, much like many others before.

DRM free is fast disappearing into the dystopian rental future of megacorps owning everything, and users being tied to the cables.

Updates are quite late....it's not GOG's fault, it either the developers not supporting GOG quick enough, or GOG (attempting) to put them through testing before release. Non Galaxy patches take a bit longer, but who wants a game breaking patch auto installed by a client anyway?

Not enough RPG titles....if you own what you want on Steam or here what else is there

No "nice" sales for a while....Define "nice". Perhaps if you contacted support and told them what a "nice sale" looks like to you they would do one for you. Just for you, personally.

There are several reasons to buy from GOG...
The games run once installed (always in my experience, usually for others).
When I wait for a "nice" sale I can get the game(s) I want at a price that makes me happy.
No DRM, I can back up all my installers.
Curation, GOG do their best to make older games playable and where they can, keep them up to date.
No need for an online client...if Steam, Origin, GoG, or the internet break, guess which games I can still play?
When GOG games are installed they don't install into Program Files by default.
Better support from GOG and the forums than "comparable" businesses.
Fair Price package and Wallet funds you already like.
I like the name GOG....it's, umm, "nice".

Enough?
A nice sale clearly means heavy discounts, games that were discounted by 90 or 80 percent are often discounted by only 50% or less now. I guess it's a way of increasing their revenue but the disparity between GOG and other platforms has increased where it will push many away.

For GOG the price elasticity of the market maybe worth it though, they're offering DRM free software, which is harder to come by.
Fair price, no DRM, better customer service, store curation... I've got plenty of reasons to keep buying games on GOG.
Poles often spend their vacation in Croatia :-D

XD Yup, this is the best reason to buy here! :P You made my day with this comment! XD

+ DRM-free (still)
+ friendlier community with the staff interacting with consumers
+ curated store (for me that is a positive, since browsing through steam is really hard with so many titles)
+ older games are patched and supported at times
+ did I say anything about the great community?

The sales being 'nice' or not is pretty subjective, so won't comment on them. But, yes, I have been a little underwhelmed by the sale formats a little recently.

Desmight: [s]Fair price, [/s] - Not true any more
no DRM,
[s]better customer service, [/s] - has been continuously declining for years
[s]store curation... [/s] - is more often than not a joke or completely random
The only valid point remaining for me is 'DRM-free'. But that's a big enough point to keep me here, even though GOG broke all of their other previously advertised 'principles'.

It is true, though, that interesting games are a bit hard to come by, and impression is that prices are rising.

Community as a selling point is a bit weak.
The only reason for me is DRM free.

I found the GOG store painful to navigate as with limited search options.

Yet, I m reticent to move to steam for DRM.
But if prices goes up more, I could just jump.
In the end, without a phisical package, these games have such a low value to me.

BeatriceElysia: ...
So... are you asking us whether you should continue buying from GOG, or are you trying to convince us that we shouldn't buy from GOG? I think either way you fail.

Why are you making such a big deal about it anyway? I didn't need your consultation when I decided not to buy any more games from e.g. Gamersgate.com, or when I seriously cut down buying from HumbleBundles. I just did it, just like that.

I can make my own decisions, I am a free man and I walk the new paths to unknown territory, laughing at danger's face. Your mileage may vary.
