MysterD: The thing is: Gothic ain't that much different than ELEX

EDIT:
Yeah, Wasteland 3 was awesome. Took like over 60 hours or so to get through it, on PC Game Pass. I'm hoping there'll be more DLC's/expansions or WL4 at some point. I really enjoyed it, since there ain't a ton of NEW Fallout 1+2 style games on the market these days,

I still should pick up ATOM RPG at some point...

gog2002x: I have been eyeing ELEX for a while now and Gothic 1 was fun, though I haven't played 2 & 3 yet. That people say it's a modern Gothic does pique my interest. I may have to get it next time it goes on sale.

ATOM is pretty fun, it has a lot of similarities to Fallout 1 & 2. The fact that the developer priced it so reasonably, is a big plus. I ended up buying the supporter pack because of that.

Not sure about Disco Elysium, it's kinda further down on my list atm. TBH, my wishlist is probably way too long right now lol.

Now PS:T was an unusual game for me back then and at first it wasn't easy for me to get into, but I ended up enjoying it quite a bit. I also do have TToN, but hesitant to start it until I know I can commit the time since I hear it's a lengthy game.

Well, sure - Gothic isn't entire ELEX and vice versa, but a lot of their design, NPC's, schedule-stuff looks similar. I think the big changes are it is a bit sci-fi, so you do have sci-fi weapons and stuff you normally wouldn't have in a traditional fantasy RPG.

Yeah, I should get ATOM RPG at some point. When? Well, who knows. [shrug] I already got so many backlogged games that...well, I don't always need to be buying stuff basically. I often wait for sales and/or bundles (from places like Fanatical or Humble) to buy stuff, if I don't need stuff ASAP.

Torment: Tides is good - but it's combat system's different. It's turn-based. Combat's okay - but most of the time, I usually talk my away from combat and/or go the speech-filled dialogue routes. Writing and story is pretty good here, too. I should get back to it, at some point.

Too many games, not enough time...you know?

That my friend is the sad truth for all us gamers. One life is just not enough to truly enjoy all our games, especially if we play them multiple times. :)

Oh, the dreaded backlog. Maybe someday, someone will invent a VR system that allows for lengthy time dilation and the ability to import our games there so we can have the extra time.

I read a litrpg book series called Nova Terra, that had a system where one real day equaled seven in-game days. So, imagine a single 2-day weekend turning into a 2-week weekend lol.

That said, there's a teeny, tiny, part of me that wants to leave the gaming scene behind. But that part is so small I know it'll never happen, barring some life changing event.
