If you like Fallout 1+2 I'd also suggest Arcanum.

Arcanum is basically Industrial era meets Steampunk meets traditional fantasy characters (elves, dwarves, etc) with some Steampunk/Industrial twists on them.

Also, if you like PS:T - Torment: Tides of Numenera is really good too. Still need to finish that, but it's spiritual successor of sorts to PST.

I found that also odd, since they are very similar.

Also...Wasteland 3 is awesome. Played that in PC Game Pass.

EDIT:
Also found it odd, he has PST, but has no interest in Disco Elysium.
Has Gothic 1-3 and Risen, but no interest in ELEX.

With that said, note a few things:
* It's a JRPG, whereas the first post didn't list any JRPGs.
* I honestly think its predecessor, FF5, is a better game.
* Many of the games listed in the OP have class systems. FF6 does not. FF5 does have a job system, which is an interesting variation on the character class system, so if you're going to recommend a FF game, FF5 might be a better choice.
If any i would recommend XIII

graphics are awesome
lightning is a kick ass chick
the anime level is fairly low though you still have to put up with some nonsense
once you passed the introduction fighting with the whole tactics and options not to mention the levelling of characters is quite interesting

i belief the 'jobs' are now skill sets that define the character. Attack, Magic Attack, Tank, Buf, Debilitator, Healer and with different tree's to follow

The game is on the long side and ... really , a measly 2020 pc runs the game fine and , this is hear say btw, the puzzle on the end is pretty challenging if i understood correctly .... oh and it is a trilogy of course !!!

take for example the difference between 2 souls brothers Code Vein and Fallen Order, outside the setting, in the basics the games are quite similar but the whole entourage, how characters are presented is like a world of difference. Same goes for Mortal Shell and Nioh for example. There is a complete other level of interaction and expectancy going on here

I heard that it's the worst one though, personally I'd recommend any of the other games. Some feel better, some worse, and in terms of plot they have basically zero fanservice.

Maybe he or she is tired of those particular RPG settings for the time being. Who are we to judge. :)

I am glad to hear more positive things about Wasteland 3 as I was considering the game for purchase in the future.

Just in response to some of the comments that my tastes are strange, they probably are a bit strange in some areas. I do enjoy No Man's Sky, but I hardly play any other space sim/exploration games, sometimes a single title will just grab me. I must admit, RPGs are the only genre that I play a lot of different titles from. All of the other genres are kind of hit and miss as far as my favorite titles go, to be honest.

When I think "traditional RPG". I tend to think of older JRPGs, mainly because that's actually what I grew up on. (Particularly Dragon Quest 1-4 (though 4 is a bit unusual with its forced ally AI control in the Famicom/NES version) or Final Fantasy 1. Not SaGa 1 or 2, as those games have rather unusual mechanics. (How many games let you *buy*, for a price that's cheap enough to not be a money sink, an item that permanently raises a stat? The only things that feel like that are SaGa 3's robots (Game Boy version) and Ultima 3's stat growth method.) One thing that feels odd is the original Dragon Quest; it feels like a traditional RPG, yet it's oddly hard to find games similar to it.)

Yea, consoles...... when i look back it is actually quite amazing to me that we never had access to a console or mini back in the days. I did had a try at zelda over at a friends house, and there was this one summer when a nephew of my mothers best friend stayed over at his grandma and he brought this console with a fps group dungeon runner, we made a trade, he could use my pc to design a castle for the game he wanted to develop and i spend literally whole days running through corridors trying not to get killed but outside those experiences, i belief " the last remnant was my first experience with a true J

The thing is: Gothic ain't that much different than ELEX. Sure, the settings are a bit different, as ELEX feels like a fantasy-RPG with some more sci-fi elements - but a lot of what PB does w/ quests, NPC's, schedules, and whatnot are similar...to what they've been doing for the last 15-20 years.

Disco Elysium is probably one of the closest things we've got to PS:T, other than Torment: Tides and probably NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer. Though, there's no real combat systems here in Disco. PS:T uses a lot of the Infinity Engine style of party-based combat. Both games haves tons of descriptive proses & tons of dialogue. Though, some kind of combat can happen in Disco's dialogues, which is more based on stat-checks and dice-roll systems. And, BTW....both settings....are weird for a RPG. Nothing traditional about PS:T's fantasy setting; and Disco feels more like a detective-style noir.

I have been eyeing ELEX for a while now and Gothic 1 was fun, though I haven't played 2 & 3 yet. That people say it's a modern Gothic does pique my interest. I may have to get it next time it goes on sale.

ATOM is pretty fun, it has a lot of similarities to Fallout 1 & 2. The fact that the developer priced it so reasonably, is a big plus. I ended up buying the supporter pack because of that.

Not sure about Disco Elysium, it's kinda further down on my list atm. TBH, my wishlist is probably way too long right now lol.

Now PS:T was an unusual game for me back then and at first it wasn't easy for me to get into, but I ended up enjoying it quite a bit. I also do have TToN, but hesitant to start it until I know I can commit the time since I hear it's a lengthy game.
