Elmofongo: I was talking about Resident Evil sorry.

darthspudius: lol I love both games so either way, id defend them both. Though FF is definitely creepier. But great jump scares, two of my favourites that get me to this day. Dogs through the window (RE1) and Zombie arms through the window outside the meeting room (RE2). Every god damn time.
That Dog Jumpscare is overrated.

And yet you did not mention what I believe to be the best jumpscare in Resident Evil period:

What made that scary is that in your first playthrough nothing happened so expect nothing to happen in the second playthrough right? WRONG!!!
Of all the games I've never played, the Fatal Frame series looks like it might be the scariest, so I definitely want to check it out one day! The only playstation game I want to play more than that is Dog's Life. Seriously, we need more games like that, where you are a dog and you do dog things, and uncover plots by evil mailmen or something. Some sort of mix between Bully and Pschyconauts, but from a dog's perspective.

Oh you know, I forget about that one every time. Scared the shit out of me when I played it last year lol. I don't think the dog scene is overrated, I just think we've all played it too much over the years haha. It's the timing of the thing, never quite got it down.

Oh I mastered the timing of the dog scene.

I don't play it as much as I use to. What I always loved about Fatal Frame is you are constantly being stalked by a ghost, so if the jumps scares dont kill you, the suspence from Broken Neck Lady or the Angry monk etc will do it wonderfully lol.

doctorsinister: Why can't some developer make a remake of that game or make a pc version ?

It would sell like crazy.
Nintendo doesn't make PC games.

Only the last two games are Nintendo Exclusive : Fatal Frame - Mask of the Lunar Eclipse and Fatal Frame - Maiden of Black Water. But yes, if Nintendo is the game's publisher, the chance of PC port is almost nil. The older games have better chance, but still unlikely as they are very old.

it would be most delightful if they did. Though atleast I can play them on a ps2 emulator.
I've always had a soft spot for the Zero series on PS2. Decided to get the Wii ones last year after playing the Wii U game at release. Thankfully, unlike most Wii horror games in Japan, second hand copies of Zero games don't carry an obscenely stupid high price. It's easier to justify buying them at 3000 yen than at 8000 or 10,000 yen.

Atleast you are in Japan to get them haha. I wouldn't mind a copy of Fatal Frame 4, would probably have to sell my soul for one.
I'm playing first series, even though i haven't finish it but by far is the best with the others sequel but i haven't play the one with twin sister. maybe i'll try to give it another chance, soon after i got the ROM (you better port it to pc, tecmo! :p) also curious with forbidden siren haven't played just read a good reviews from games magz back then :\
My favorite horror series, with the first being the best.

Surprised that the majority here think so, because everywhere else on the internets, Crimson Butterfly gets all the love. (I think it's my least favorite, although it is the most visually appealing of the 3 available in English.)

Crimon Butterfly I think gets the love because it is in technical terms a better built game. To me I compare it to The Witcher and The Witcher 2. Personally I think the original is a far superior game but the sequel from a technical stand point beats it to the punch.
Absolutely, those and the Siren series are among my favourite horror games.
I thought it had a very unique concept going on and was ahead of its time.
I also like how it reminded me of classic Japanese horror films.
I bought the first Project Zero a while ago but haven't tried it yet. I guess i should fire up my PS2 again and give it a whirl. :D
