Well first step would be some details as to what is occurring.....
Are you downloading via GoG Galaxy? The old GoG Downloader?
OS? Windows 10? iOS? Pants around belly button Linux?
What is your provider?
DO you have anything else running n the background?
What speeds are you getting?
Firewall?
etc....

I don't think that's true, I have a 100m/bit connection and my GOG browser downloads are always at max speed.

The changelog for the latest Galaxy version notes that they changed the default number download threads from 10 to 32 which
should improve download speeds at the cost of CPU usage.

Here is a decent online tool: How long will it take to download?
Your 12 Mbps ideally takes 12 minutes to download 1 GB of file. But from your speedtest, its your upload speed that's less than good. Uploading to youtube must've been a pain.

Here are the steps:
1. Contact your internet operator.
2. Tell them "I want a faster internet!".
3. If they say "But you already have the fastest one we offer.", say "Screw you! I'm going to your competitor. Hasta la pasta, baby!".
4. If it turns out your ex-internet operator had actually monopoly in your area (no competitors) or none of the competitors offer any faster speeds, then go back to your old ISP and apologize for your rudeness.
