I know, that German nearly became the official language in the USA. If that had happened, it would be much easier for me! :-D

I'm a bit fuzzy on my language history.

Not trolling, but I honestly thought Esperanto died out not long after t was created. I didn't realize it had actually caught on to any degree at all.

Hipster gibberish. It's secret code talk for the jewish mob. Helps them find their way in the dark. They were content with Yiddish but then the goyim started catching on, so they had their pal Morse come up with some new beeps and bloops to use.

Nope, no Esperanto. Mixes too many language groups together and turns it in to a disgusting mix. I will rather learn the origin languages then it. Plus its just a language for intellectual elites to play with.

I guess it sounds good in theory, and it kinda makes me sad that something AS OVERLY STUPID as daylight saving time gets adopted all over the world, but something that actually makes sense like Esperanto doesn't.
As always, it is not necessarily something that is theoretically the best and most optimal that becomes the standard, but something else becomes the de-facto standard for a reason or another. Like MS-DOS and PCs. So yeah, with all the shortcoming that English has, it is the de facto standard international language that is used by different nations to communicate with each other, so deal with it people. It is not the worst of all possibilities, you might just as well be learning Finnish, or Chinese for christ sake!

For some reason, I was under the impression that just America had it.

I know some language geeks, but never learned any Esperanto. We had fun with Klingon, but it was fifteen to twenty years ago and I'm quite rusty now.

Mostly an American and European thing, I guess. I meant it as "used in many many countries over the world", not quite "every country in the world".
I'm kinda happy for large areas in the map falling into the "formerly used daylight savings", suggesting that so many countries have tried it, but considered it stupid (like it is) and decided to ditch it. If only e.g. EU would wise up as well (I think Finland adopted it at some point just to be "compatible" with other EU/European countries, and probably nowadays some stupid EU regulation forces us to keep it).
People who promote daylight saving should be shot, and fed to the dogs! And then the dogs should be shot too!

Daylight saving time is awesome. Morning commute during summer should happen when it's not blisteringly hot yet. Morning commute during winter should happen after sunrise.

That is true for most of central and southern Europe I guess. Why do you think it's bad (for everyone)?
