No. It would be a bad idea, for at least three reasons:
1) It would force people only interested in the original version, into paying a higher price for a version they don't want (when on Steam, you can just buy the original for a lower price).
2) It would force people interested in the BFG Edition into paying more than the equivalent price on Steam.
3) The original version of Resurrection of Evil is regionally-locked in Germany. Since GOG bundles old games with their expansions, it would mean that the original version of Doom 3 would become regionally-locked here. Further bundling it with the BFG Edition, would result in both versions becoming unavailable for German customers, which would be particularly ironic, when you consider that some of the changes made to the BFG Edition were done to secure a release in Germany.

If you are fine with using steam to download files, you can get the Doom 3 BFG game files and use them with RBDoom3BFG. I found the game on clearance at Gamestop and got the files this way. A simple drag and drop to a different folder and it worked fine with no steam needed.

Doesn't remove them, just Nazi imagery - it would be kinda insane to not be able to distribute BFG edition in Germany because of a secret level that vast majority of players won't even see. The change sucks tho, I'll give you that.
Still, native widescreen and gamepad support beats these, hands down.

Excellent point. Well, sell it separately then, I don't really care TBH - I just think there's enough good reasons for BFG edition to get here too.

They didn't have much of a choice, though. The Red Cross are being whiny bitches. I somewhat understand the issue that organisation has with that use of their symbol but then again, it really HAS become a universal symbol for healing, first aid etc..
That said, I don't think that the BFG edition is all bad. Back in the day everyone's main complaint was that you had the option to either see something or use a gun, one of the first mods I tried added a shoulder lamp or something that worked with any weapon, just like in Half-Life or Unreal (and one of the biggest improvements in Quake 4 over Doom 3 was that they added a flashlight to the assault rifle). In the BFG Edition they made that change official and suddenly everyone's pissed. The only complaint I have is that they didn't make that optional. I always enjoyed it a lot to hit the zombies on their heads with the flashlight, although admittedly it was largely due to how comedically absurd that looked. Would have preferred if there had been an option to restore that. And sure, the BFG Edition looks kinda too bright and washed out in direct comparisons with the original but I didn't even notice that while playing, maybe due to my monitor settings (which are traditionally quite dark and high contrast).

Seriously GOG, when your forum can't process my post because it's too long or something maybe it's time to take this place behind the shed and fucking shoot it.
