Not skippable, long and boring tutorials.
Obtrusive quest pointers in RPGs that kill all sense of exploration. Give me some nice directions and let me find my own way!

Rubberband AI in racing games. That's something I really hate...

Seems like the autosave in that game is out to kill you...

ReynardFox: Unskippable cutscenes or unskippable NPC dialogue (I'm looking at you Legend of Kay). Made all the more egregious if a checkpoint is placed before one of them.

Escort missions. Does anyone actually enjoy babysitting drooling AI? Or protecting said drooler while they mend/hack etc?

RPGs where the lack of balance or natural progession forces you to mindlessly grind levels. Or conversely, RPGs that scale the enemies based on your own level, removing any real sense of improvement.
this.

also id like to add in immersion breaking actions like QTE that require you to watch for the cue to hit so you can succeed. You cant watch the awesome graphic action going on because you are focused on hitting E E S S T! annoying. In that same flavor devs putting keyboard actions into menial tasks like 'press eeeeeeeee till you open the door' in order to pad the gameplay. looking at you D4

Yeah I remember doing the library mission on Ranger Hardcore and I was literally about to fall over rand die as the guys from D6 drove in because an angry librarian didn't like how I looked in my gasmask. Another thing I hate is fighting to the next checkpoint just to find all the ammo and filters exhausted and you can't go back. I'm actually stuck in Metr : LL because I activated a checkpoint after alerting guards and releasing toxic gas so I have a few minutes to kill them and I can't find the objective. Although I like that game very much, shit like running around with a diary and a lighter in a combat area filled with toxic gas and still not being able to use that stupid compass because the objective is so vague is frustrating.

Oh, yes, that compass. I remember in 2033 just before the library, you reach a square and have no idea what to do and the compass points at nothing in particular because you first have to kill a few monsters to make your comrades appear out of nowhere to progress the plot. I Iiterally ran in circles...

With the gasmask on. If there is one arrow I hate more than the one that kebabs your face and pushes you into a pool of lava in Dark Souls, its that despicable green vile one dimensional bastard. I fondly remember the time I first met the little Children of The Underground group and ran circling that station at least 4 times with the depleting gasmask and recently exhausted ammo against infinitely spawning Lurkers TRYING TO FOLLOW THAT ARROW. What kind of sadist made that in 2033 and still procreated it to the next game and both the reduxes is beyond me. The real dark secret.

Let's see:

- Having to constantly feed your party members in old school dungeon crawlers.

- Losing your power ups when you die in a shmup. Seriously, there is not a single game made better by this.

- No default autofire in a shmup. Somebody needs to pay my treatment fees for carpal tunnel syndrome.

- Finally, I've come to cringe in disgust whenever I see "open world gameplay". Also agreed on "procedural generation" of almost anything.

Gameplay that confuses immersion and busywork with fun - e.g., the driving sections and planet scanning in Mass Effect. I feel what they were trying to do was to hearken back to the exploratory stuff in games like Starflight, but a lot of it is NOT FUN and therefore makes me want to turn the game off.

While I'm complaining about Bioware games, the campsite/back on the ship stuff in which you're expected to yak with party members to hear their lengthy sob stories in order to get side-quests that will give you something to do and hopefully improve their characters. I think there were times when I played Dragon Age in which my entire play session consisted of nothing but going around camp talking to these bores.

I actually uninstalled the game because the annoying autosaving.
Half-hearted resource drain systems. If they don't connect to the rest of the game in an intuitive way, then they are simply time wasters. Looking at you, Deadly Premonition.

Oh, and an uncommon but very nasty anti-feature...in Deadly Premonition: When replaying a chapter, you cannot save until you complete it. Not even auto-saving. As such, you have to complete everything you want in a single session, without something forcing you to quit. That was the final straw for me, when I lost a bunch of completed side quests and loot when Deadly Premonition crashed...

I am playing a game where you can learn weapon techniques by using the appropriate weapon. These techniques are unlocked by skill level and luck. The latter is a major issue, as you never know when it would happen. Literally fought over 100 battles with the same weapon without anything happening. In my opinion, games should be rigged so that bad luck doesn't get in the way of progression.

Oh, another issue with Deadly Premonition. Whenever you pick up an item, the game will stop and switch to a different screen so that you can see the object in detail. The problem here is that this happens ALL the time. It gets old very quickly, and wastes a great deal of time.

Have you played Indigo Prophecy, by any chance? The game best played by someone else!
Rail shooter (not sure if it's the correct definition) levels in 1st/ 3rd person shooters. Recently I tplayed Rogue Trooper, it was a nice game but these flying/ train levels were just boring. The same applies to Metro 2033 (an otherwise wonderful game).

Of course, the opposite can be said for games like Half-Life, where you are in full control of the vehicle. That way is enjoyable.
