Breja: A better question - why do you have to own the game to buy the soundtrack? Maybe I don't like the game but like the music. Why should I have to buy the game if all I want is the soundtrack?
I never understood that restriction, it seems a silly way to lose some extra sales. Actually, from a business POV, I think it would make sense to create a new entry in the menu just for soundtracks, music could be treated as a product on its own, we could have a music section next to the games and movies ones.

eisberg77: It is telling you that you must own the game (planescape) in order to purchase the sound track.
avatar
xyem: Except it isn't because it is missing the name of the game (which is a link to the game page).

Note the double space between "own" and "on" in the attachment where it should be.
If you really can't tell what they are talking about, I don't know what to tell you other than that is what they are talking about. You have to own the base game in order to purchase the soundtrack.

fronzelneekburm: It's a mystery indeed: Why would anybody pay £3.59 for a soundtrack they could've gotten for free until fairly recently.

xyem: The principles, they fall one by one, hoo-rah. hoo-rah. (2 price points)
The principles, they fall one by one, hoo-rah, hoo-rah. (free extras)
The principles will fall one by one, (no DLC)
and even then, GOG won't be done. (Galaxy optional)
The principles, they fall one by one.. hoo-rahhhhhh. (no regional prices)
What are you talking about?

30 years ago the grass was greener, the snow was whiter, and Carrie Fisher was sexy AND alive!

And now... well... the end is nigh because the sky is falling.

It is just his post makes no sense, cause of all that stuff he mentioned, only Regional Pricing was the only thing GoG ever talked about, and they explained why they were being forced into Regional Pricing and their solution for it.

They never stated anything about not wanting to have:
2 price points because of different editioins
They always had free extras since the beginning
They never stated there would not be DLCs
Why people have a problem with an optional client is beyond me, but again they never stated there would never be a client.

So yeah, his post makes no sense at all.

GOG touted a bunch of principles when I joined (2 price points, free extras, no DLC and no regional pricing).

Over time, they have abandoned these principles.

The Regional Ripoff: Why Can't Gaming Be Fair?
In GOG.com's second commercial leading up to our announcement on Tuesday, 27 March 2012, we see the embodiment of another one of our core values.

Except for Regional pricing, none of the other stuff were their core values/principles, so what ever you thought you saw, you are simply wrong. And they explained why they were forced into regional pricing, and they also mentioned what their solution was.

Except for none of those, other than regional pricing, were ever advertised as their core values. And they explained they were being forced into regional pricing and they gave a solution to being forced which was taking money out of their own pocket.

Except for none of those, other than Regional Pricing, have been a core value, you are simply wrong. And they explained about how they were forced, yes forced, into doing regional pricing. Sounds like you would rather them just close up shop or never expand their library of games just to keep to a core value they were forced to not keep. They gave a solution to this by taking money out of their own pocket.

After the backlash, yes they did.

After.

eisberg77: Why people have a problem with an optional client is beyond me, but again they never stated there would never be a client.
One of those reasons might be that GOG started adding it to all the installers, so downloading it wasn't optional (and it defaulted to installing it).

If you don't want to own the game, you can always get it on Steam.

Did I claim any of the others were core values/principles?
