War for the Overworld, Evil Genius, Dungeons 2, and others also join the festivities!

Being bad can be so damn good. The most fortunate of us learned this the right way: from videogames. It was twenty years ago when Dungeon Keeper first reared its highly innovative and remarkably horny head, single-handedly introducing a new breed of RTS games that we've come to call Dungeon Managements. In honor of the trailblazing classic, we're holding a Special Sale, where both the originals and their spiritual successors are going for up to -75%!

Short after the first game's release, developers Bullfrog followed up their cult hit with the equally entertaining Dungeon Keeper 2, which further expanded upon the core idea. When the series was regrettably discontinued, though, other developers picked up the torch and run with it, resulting in a number of great strategy/RPGs that toy with this concept of a godlike overlord reigning over comically nasty creatures in pursuit of mischief, mayhem, and reprehensible glory.

Widely celebrated among them is Brightrock Games' War for the Overworld, a game considered by many as the unofficial, slightly delayed Dungeon Keeper 3. As huge fans of Bullfrog's classics, the studio recently posted this extensive celebratory piece, where they not only remind us of Dungeon Keeper's legacy, but also share their own memories of it and talk about how it inspired the creation of War for the Overworld. It is quite the nostalgic read for all dungeon managers out there.

Other games took the core concept of controlling a mischievous evil-doer and put their own spin on it, both in setting and gameplay. Evil Genius, which turns us into a fabulously colorful supervillain, and Ghost Master, which gives us a team of ghoulish creatures to terrorize the living with, are both prime examples of that.

For more straightforward fantasy, however, look no further than Overlord + Raising Hell, which lets us spread mayhem by directly controlling our dark lord, and the maliciously charming Dungeons 2.

The Special Sale will last until July 3, 10PM UTC.

GOG.com: both the originals and their spiritual successors are going for up to -80%!
I see discounts ranging from 48% to 75%. Nowhere do I see 80%.

^This. One of my favorite games.
I would love to buy Overlord 2 here. Could GOG convince Codemasters to release it here?

Am I mistaken, or War For the Overworld is cheaper then it was during Summer Sale?
I'm looking for "War for the Overworld - The Cynical Imp (Charity DLC)", "War for the Overworld - Kickstarter Theme Bundle (Charity DLC)" and "War for the Overworld - Founders Theme Bundle (Charity DLC)".

Are they only availabile on Steam?
So! The day has come. Dungeon Keeper no longer on my wishlist. Thanks, Cavalary, for incentive ;)

Hi from the WFTO Team :)

Due to the charity arrangements we can't sell these directly on GOG, but we do sell offer GOG keys to anyone who purchases from the widgets on our site.

As far as I'm aware it should be the same discount as it was during the Summer Sale but that's up to the GOG team :)

Great post from the team at GOG we're proud to be celebrating this major anniversary of an incredible title that has been such an inspiration in not just our work but also our lives!

Now it's time for me to get my hands on Evil Genius again! :D

Overlord II should be here, I agree.
I would recommend Dungeons 2 to any dungeon builder. It is a more funny, cartoonish take on Dungeon Keeper. You still have a Dungeon to create and defend but you also go on an offensive to the overworld in a RTS style where the overworld looks like as if you are playing Warcraft 3.

The game is essentially a Dungeon Keeper crossed with movies ending in a parody. For example If you play the expansion A game of Winter you will see that the game is the cross of Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne story and the A game of Thrones story but in a very funny way.

Off course War for the Overworld is also a no brainer for any Dungeon Keeper fans since its essentially Dungeon Keeper 3.

This is simply the best.
And the higher discount for the War for the Overworld base game is gone now.

Has that been a mistake?

It was cheaper, until an hour ago or so. Now it has the same price.
