Yep, I couldn't bear to watch Ichigo in that state. Even after 361 it just never felt the same way as it did before. Are you following manga by any chance, how is it over there?

By the way, are any of the Bleach films worth watching?

Licurg: That's like watching regular porn and then deciding all movies are like that... Watch Psycho-Pass, that's a great anime, and very good for beginners .
I will look into it. I think at that time I was just in over my head running blind not knowing what was what when it came to the stuff. I just wanted to find an anime I could talk about with a friend. We rarely ever talk anymore so I never bothered looking for another.

FoxbodyMustang: Today I just watch things like Family Guy and Boon Docks. I came to the conclusion that anime was just not for me. But I like the art work style. Then again maybe my first choice was just a bad one considering what I was looking for. Don't get me wrong, it was dark and graphic, but just not quite what I was looking for in terms of.... action?
Try Basilisk (a series about two feuding ninja clans in medieval Japan) or Fullmetal Alchemist (somewhat dark, but not truly graphic, except in certain scenes). There's also Gurren Lagann, which is somewhat dark, but not really graphic.

Pheace: While I'm generally fine with a decent amount of ecchi/fanservice, the whole look at us cumming/getting tentacle raped because I ate a piece of food feels a bit too overdone in the first episode so far.
Well, food can be thought of as a sensual item. If it hits the pleasure centers of the brain just right, it could trigger the same overall feeling. I won't deny the fanservice, but that's not what the series is really about. There's neat things like turning chicken stock into gelatin cubes and other different things in it.

Try Ninja Slayer. heh.

Will do. Might be another week or so before I can check out anything new though. I'm close to my bandwidth limit for the month. I hate limits. 3D movies are massive, but cool. But I've noted the ones people have recommended.

I'm assuming these recommendations are in English or at least have English subtitles available?

He was laughing when he recommended that. Ninja Slayer is pretty crappy.

What you need to understand is that anime is basically an art form in Japan. Even though lots of anime is produced with children and youths in mind there are anime for all ages and for all tastes.

So if you want to get some recommendations that you will most likely enjoy you should tell us a little bit about your tastes.

What is your favorite genre? Drama, Action, Horror, Comedy, ...

And what's your favorite setting? Science Fiction, Fantasy, present-day, (pseudo) historical, ...

Do you like, hate or don't care about extreme violence, gore, nude scenes, sex, ...?
yeah the entire joke about Ninja Slayer is that it's how americans who don't really watch much anime think the medium's like based on crappy edgy 80s OVAs (taken to the point where they claim that it was written by americans and translated back into japanese).

and that americans who don't really watch anime and expect that all anime should be like crappy edgy 80s OVAs could look at the description and still take it seriously and be unironically anticipate it... and then get livid when they see what the series actually like and not get it or realize that the joke was on them the entire time
Is the current/new season bit lacking in new series?.

Gate
Working !!!

Still waiting for next season of Sidonia/SOA/, Attack on Titan (when is that due?. Have copies of the two recent live action films ive yet to watch), Shame 'Gargantia wont be getting a second season :/.

Saw Bleach: The Diamond Dust Rebellion, Bleach: Hell Verse and Bleach: Fade to Black. They were below average imo.I didn't see the first one so I can't really say how it is.
Rurouni Kenshin; at least for the first two seasons. Then once you finish the Kyoto arc, go read the comics for the ending.
Done watching movies, gonna go for Tasogare Otome x Amnesia . I only put it on my list because of the Horror tag, so no idea what to expect .

The genre is not a factor, but I don't need too much comedy, some is ok. I get enough comedy elsewhere. Some drama, some action, some horror is good, a mix of everything I guess. I'm not sure as far as the setting goes. I guess if the other content is good, the setting doesn't matter. The nudity and sex does not bother me to a point as long as it's not the entire show. There needs to be a good plot other than in this scene the woman gets gangbanged by 5 guys, in the next scene she gets tentacle raped, and so on. Nothing rated for kids, I get enough of that on normal TV. I don't guess that sounds too picky. I guess anything in the middle but nothing rated towards kids. No comedies.

Try Higurashi, horror mystery.

Twelve Kingdoms was one of the things I thought of when i read your previous post, Licurg mentioned it as well.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is really, really good.

Funny, intelligent and touching with good characters and well-developed relationships.

Awesome fight scenes. Characters got believably better over the course of the series.

No one got handed an Idiot Ball or Win Button - mistakes and successes flowed naturally from beliefs and what characters knew. Even the canonical Win Button (Avatar State) was a tool that needed to be used carefully.

If you like anime, you'll love this show. If you don't like anime, you'll still love this show. There's a reason it won multiple awards and still has an active fanbase a decade later.
