dragonbeast: Nah the dubs on it were pretty decent. Lots of the swearing gets so much more over the top too.

honestly, i'm not someone who always says subs>dubs. Hell, if the dub has Steve blum or crispin freeman, its a dub watch for me.

Licurg: Same scene

dubbed:

I rest my case .
Yeah well as counterargument I give that yandre girls' formaldehyde insult
Here are a few that I think are great:

Mushishi
Tokyo Godfathers (film)
Monster
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
Ping Ping
Honey & Clover
Paranoia Agent
Terror in Resonance
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun (underrated shoujo)

There are lots more, but it's hard to remember this stuff all at once.
Gonna finish Azumanga Daioh soon. Not really my thing... No gore, no titties, nothing :/ It was good, just not for me .

Can't decide what to watch next . I have these on my radar right now :

-Gosick
-Danganronpa
-Majestic Prince
-Kotoura-san

Dunno much about any of them . Any suggestions ?
I wish there was a season 3 of ika musume
I've been watching Eureka Seven. Really strange show for me. I have no idea if it's really that good, given that I'm kinda still confused and frustrated 28 episodes in. I'm hoping the second half will dispel those feelings and give a solid ending.

Well you'd probably dislike Gosick and Kotorua-san after a slice of life show. Danganrompa is a death game and the blood is purple/pink. That's what I know about it. Majestic Prince is an utter mystery.

Supposed to be one of the better mechas to come out in recent years, I've seen it in a couple of "top #" videos.
Well, can't say that I ever expected Legend of the Galactic Heroes getting licensed, but it happened.

(spoilers: it's the 'corrupt-a-wish' version, since Sentai got the license. ha ha)

dragonbeast: Okay now that i finished 00 or the third time, anyone know what gundam series are good and what I need to watch before it?
Well, broadly speaking you've got your UC timeline main series, your UC spinoffs, the post UC series, and then the miscellaneous spinoffs.

The sequence of bread and butter UC series: MSG -> Zeta -> Double Zeta -> Char's Counterattack. These should probably be watched in that order if possible. There's also a late UC timeline series, Victory but I don't think there's as much continuity to worry about there.

Then there's the various UC spinoffs. 0080, 0083, the 8th MS Team, F91, Unicorn, Origination, etc.. Most of these are more standalone, with the exception of Unicorn (which I think ties in pretty heavily with Char's Counterattack), and Origination (which despite the name I think only covers a side part of the Origination remake)

Then there's the post-UC series - Turn A, X, and G-Reco. Though, not seeing the older UC series probably isn't a big deal matter since they're more or less post apocalyptic.

Pretty much all of the other spinoffs (G, Wing, 00, Seed, Build Fighters, etc.) are set in their own little continuity unless they're the sequel to a previous series so it shouldn't be hard to figure out.

As far as my opinions on the Gundam series I've watched:

MSG - pretty good for it's time, though you might want to watch the 0079 movies or read the Origination manga instead
Char's Counterattack - garbage
F91 - forgot pretty much everything about it
0080 - good, but a bit dry
00 - pretty average and accessible, despite a few problems like the series discarding the original concept of the series for more Gundam tropes (though you've already seen it)
G-Reco - garbage
Build Fighters - good, because it has some nice animation/fights and fanservice for earlier series, and because it doesn't try to hide the fact that it's a glorified toy commercial or fall into the trap of repeating the same Gundam tropes and patterns (as it falls more into merchandise driven series tropes instead).

I remember it doing the CG pretty well, but the rest of the time the art/animation/everything else about it was pretty bland and bleh.

Watching Kotoura-san right now, no idea why the "comedy" tag was on it, it hasn't been funny at all so far... But good nonetheless .
Parasyte is the only anime that makes me watch all of the episodes in three days.

About Danganronpa, I played the game first and really enjoyed it. I only watched the anime up to episode 2 probably because I've played the game so I already knew the story more or less, I'm not the kind of people who a series in another media. But from playing the game the game, I really recommend it.

If you can just play the Danganronpa game. The anime is pretty bad in comparison.
Mandatory Inferno Cop recommendation.

Oh, really ? I heard it being compared to Mirai Nikki, so I figured it can't be that bad .

I'm not saying the story is bad, it's just that in the game you can get a lot of characterization per character before they die.
In the anime you get maybe a few minutes for the first one that dies. A lot of the impact is lost as you don't get enough time to get to know them.

CuloLoco: what the gog people think about Monster, is good is bad, you recommend it?
I know its been almost a month since you inquired this but just wanted to highlight that "Monster" is excellent, its one of the best things I have ever watched anime or otherwise. It is a slow burner but I never felt like there was any filler apart from the flashback sequences which are there because they didn't account for binge watching.

Just an absolutely amazing psychological thriller that is a must watch for fans of anime that doesn't have any of the annoying tropes generally associated with them. It also works as a gateway series for people that just aren't interested in anime and shows the medium can be used as effectively as any other to tell a really compelling and incredible story.

Games will always have more build-up than anime, since they're longer . Don't see that as a problem .
