I never have and never will be into sports anime, the closest thing I have enjoyed is Moshidora (What If the Manageress of a High School Baseball Team read Drucker's "Management"?). For non sports actions this spring/2015 season you could see Etotama (seems every episode will have a cool CGI fight), Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season, Saint Seiya: soul of gold or Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Season 2.

Not anime, but related. Have you guys watched the latest episode of Regular Show? It starts with a brilliant parody of Evangelion's opening, and the whole episode itself is a parody of popular mecha anime, such as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann or GaoGaiGar.

Well for RahXephon lets just say you have already seen it since you watched Evangelion.

The series is known for almost repeat ALMOST use the exact same plot/premise/story/characters almost exactly like Evangelion. Its evangelion with a completely different skin.

Most scenes are almost point for point exactly like Evangelion. The only difference is that the main character is not as depressing as Shinji Ikari. Heck the whole athmosphere of this show is not as grim and dark as Evangelion. The Robots are not as Scary.
