Well, I'm trying to string together a VR-themed show for an art cinema. So I'm (mostly) looking for some feature film. I considered Paprika, which is total eyecandy, even though it's about dreams, not VR. What I would mostly like was something that had a bit more down-to-earth approach to VR - like in Sleep Dealer where augmented reality is used for cross-border sweatshops. (A lot of VR movies are kinda doing the same thing, with 100 % perfect immersion and that tired old plot twist where the guy was in VR the whole time)

Currently reading the Non non biyori manga series, I have to say the anime is spot on to the manga but I love the artstyle a bit more on the manga :)

Don't make such sweeping statements in here without clear reasons. Especially with your avatar, you look very hypocritical. There's a world of difference between "XYZ anime is not for me or to my liking beacuse..." and "XYZ anime is so bad and it sucks just because it has fanservice in it!"

Same, I usually wait till the series ended or for the DVD/BD if they have extra content. Btw, what sets healing anime apart from slice of life if there's any.

Actually, Blame is one of those manga I won't recommend unless you're drawn to it for some reason. The art and panels make it hard to follow at the beginning. There are also several issues with the plot and the sense of scale and time is way, WAY overdone.

But if you're going to get the whole series, know that NOiSE is the prequel, Net Sphere Engineer and Blame!² are both one-shot sequels. However, none of them really adds much and one of the things I have issues with is that a character did something very unlike him in the sequel without any sort of explanation and that just isn't good story-telling. Oh, and there's going to be a film later this year too.
Nah, it's okay. Snowflake don't mind sacrificing itself for charity.

Although it's anime and not film, go check out Dennō Coil. The only reason I didn't mention this earlier is that AR and VR are 2 very different things.

Is the manga longer than the anime or the adaptation was complete?

well biomega's still pretty cyberpunky... there's a potential tie back to blame with whatever company sent out that colony ship that showed up (Towa Heavy Industries I think it was?) but I don't know if it's actually supposed to be in the same continuity. But then the plot gets kind of weird and it turns into something sort of like Blame.

it is pretty much the 2 seasons of the anime in manga form and a little extra but japan has the latest shit and we got only the start of season 2 on manga coming 17th of this month

If it's self-contained within certain parts of the plot with fluid animation and such, then yeah, the film could work. Only time will tell though.

Er... No, and not because of zombies. I won't even label Biomega as a zombie story, the plot is just all over the place. The beginning might be okay, even cute with the bear, but damn, it just goes off in a different direction mid-way and you're left with something that's totally out of sync with what you expected...

If the choice is solely between Blame and Biomega, stick with Blame. At least, there's some 'consistency' there.

Yeah, the author likes to use the same names in multiples of his work but they shoudn't all be in the same continuity other than NOiSE, Blame and NSE.

My avatar is from Lucky Star, a commedy anime where there is no tits or underwear.
The comedy of Lucky Star is very clever, and there are many citations that can only be grasped by knowing many anime / manga.
There is nothing like this in anime I mentioned as bad anime.
It is true that the style is kawai-like, but by watching both you can understand the differences (like I understand that I can watch Lucky Star and clever commedy series but I cannot watch fanservice/idol-like shows).

I did not say, however, that they suck, I just said that I don't like them.
I do not think there's any prejudice in saying I do not like that kind of anime.

Of course I know about Konata, or else why would I say that? Look, not only does Lucky Star fall under Slice of Life, it contains Fanservice. Remember, Fanservice doesn't have to be sexual in nature. If you don't understand the meaning of all these terms, then don't use them.

First of all, you didn't say you don't like them. You said "any fanservice/slice-of-life/Idol anime" are "really really bad shows". Those 2 statements are very different. If you can't grasp why because English is not your native language or whatever, then think carefully about how you phrase your statements next time.

Anyway, I'm not going to argue over this. As long as you remember what I've said if and when you post here again, it's all good.

Like I said is more a commedy than anything else. If not I would have had trouble watching the show. However I do not want to convince you of the contrary... For me Lucky Star and anime I mentioned are two completely different genres.

I said bad shows in a context where I was expressing my taste.

Just accept that I don't like anime like Keijo, Konosuba, Re:Zero, Love Live etc... (any fanservice/slice-of-life/Idol anime).
And that I do like clever commedy anime like Lucky Star.

I'd say (and this is just my take on it and may very well be incorrect) that slice of life is a "narrative style" about telling stories focused on individual moments, and that "healing anime/manga" (or Iyashikei) is about the intent of delivering a soothing experience to the viewer. There's a lot of overlap between Iyashikei and Slice of Life, but I don't believe they are intrinsically tied to one another.
