seen the older little witch movies and noticed they did an episodic series a good few months back

Interesting and good to see the animation did not take a dip at all and looks just like the 2 movies that came out a few years ago.

watching this when they finish airing all the episodes to binge watch it :)

WBGhiro: Episode 8 of Little Witch Academia is the greatest thing I've seen in a while, thank you Trigger.

JK41R4: Trigger?... Aren't they the Kill la Kill people? Okay, now I definitely have to watch LWA!
Yeah exactly those. They made 2 short films before the series. You can start on the series right away, but I'd recommend watching it chronologically as it got made.

I couldn't find the series :(.... But! I found the first short on Netflix I think (2013, 26 minutes long). And I really liked it! I'll watch the other short tomorrow (Also on Netflix), and I'll definitely watch the series once I find it.

MiKiL: Spice & Wolf in light novel-format is good reading too. Anime was nice but it only covers the story to 5th book and just ended there. Plot is pretty much focused on economics, trading and peddling instead of normal sword and magic so this might turn some people off.

Sabin_Stargem: World End Economica is a VN game on Steam from the writer of Spice & Wolf. Can't say whether it is good or not, since I haven't gotten around to it. Figured you might want to know about it.
I do know those and have bought episode 01 and 02 long ago.
Having other things to do at the moment so I'm just waiting for 03 appear in sale. :-)
It does have pretty good rating at vndb so it should be fine.
I've also watched the second short now, and it's great! I love it! I'm gonna watch the series now! Yep, I'm hooked!

Also, heheheheheh, "Akko". How very, very subtle.

JK41R4:
I don't usually spoil much but you don't seem to get what I was talking about Gantz so I'll just say some things outright. What's not in O? There's no drugs. There's no rape. There's no sadism. And I'm just talking about that one mission. Series went on for over a decade with close to 400 Chapters, a hell lot of stuff happened before what you saw in O and worse stuff happened after. Just by watching O actually spoiled some stuff earlier but at least there are enough changes in it to mess with that. Remember that all its adaptations, including O, are meant to be self-contained. Even if you read the manga solely for that mission, you wouldn't understand much other than what you've already seen and if you do read everything till the end, well... I'm numb to it all but for someone like you, you'll definitely be affected by it, and not in a good way. I meant it when I said, "Gantz isn't for everybody, or most people even."

For the record, "loli" just refers to a character with childlike appearance, age doesn't even matter. Unless there're more letters to it or additional words or a specific context, don't always assume it has something to do with sex.

That one went over my head, what's it supposed to symbolize?

Oh, Akko seemed really similar to Mako from Kill la Kill to me (appearance, personality.) So I found it funny that she would be named that.

Ehhh..... I'll take your word for it then, maybe I'm better off not reading the manga.

Oh yeah, there's some overlap there. I was going to say it probabl wasn't completely intentional, but Amanda could be a nod to Ryuko with her attitude and 2-shaded hair

WBGhiro: if we're getting a half season again
I'm practically certain that S2 is another 12-14 episodes and not 22+.

MiKiL: Spice & Wolf in light novel-format is good reading too.

Sabin_Stargem: the writer of Spice & Wolf.
If either of you don't know it yet, it has a sequel LN, Parchment and Wolf.

avatar
Ogdin: unless all anime now default to 10 episodes per season.
avatar
UnrealQuakie: watching this when they finish airing all the episodes
LWA is 25 episodes, but the second half will be Summer anime, so there's quite a wait.

I actually jumped up last autumn when I saw that 'XVIII Spring Log' was released in Japan and been waiting for english release since then. X-D Yen Press finally has On Sale Date for it: 06/20/2017.

Edit: Yen Press do have rights for Parchment and Wolf too but I haven't seen any release date so far.

MiKiL: XVIII Spring Log
Oh man, I'm so, so tempted to say something about that, especially the first part... But nah, I won't spoil it for you. ;P

Oh, how could I forget about Amanda. They were eeeeeextra subtle with her weren't they?

Yeah, it's still very early days. The second volume was just released 10 days ago in Japan, so Yen Press won't have it translated anytime soon.
