It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

You could check out AndroidApps on Reddit, if you scroll down and check the left side there's a 'weekly discussion' bit where they've discussed some apps.
You can also try Drippler which gathers articles from different Android related sites.

Ugh... Drippler sounds like a venereal disease. Kind of like when someone suggested I should read Moby Dick. Then there was Peter Pan, which sounded like something you keep under the bed.

Keeping adolescent boys named Peter under your bed is a different kind of disease I think.

mine was a bed pan, not sure what you're projecting.
Some of those suggestion are very specific, but thank you guys :)

Wade noted.

Winamp? I loved that little powerful old program.
I heard that some company was trying to restore it for PC, but I didn't know that it existed also for phones.

As a browser, I'm using Firefox. :D

Shattered Pixel Dungeon seems cute but.. in-app purchases are annoying.

Fdroid store? Cool

I won't attempt any rooting due to the warranty. Also, some articles said that they leave the phone more vulnerable to hacks.

Checking the rest, ty!

phaolo: Also, I'm usually quite paranoid with privacy, but.. it basically seems impossible with Android+Google O_o
That's right, welcome to the snake pit.

If you want to break out, try Replicant, 100% Free mobile OS based on Android. CyanogenMod also listed under that link may be worth looking at.

Alternatively, there's ParanoidAndroid.

Check their list of supported devices and what they offer if you're interested.

Has anyone tried these:
- ES File Explorer File Manager -> to check files copied from the pc?
- SolCalendar \ aCalendar -> more options than the stock one? Also I need better event alarms.
- QuickPic Gallery -> image browser?

Can I check\manage each app connection\privacy?
Is there some kind of firewall? O_o

I use CyanogenMod with Fdroid as my store.
Apps: syncthing, keepassdroid, xabber, k-9 Mail, OsmAnd, Lesser pad, Offline calendar and repeating motifications.
A colleague clued me on to this little thumb drive: https://www.sandisk.com/home/mobile-device-storage/ultra-dual-usb-drive-3

USB and Micro-USB connectors, so it'll connect directly to both standard USB and phones / tablets with their Micro connectors. Yeah, not an app (though it comes with a storage manager), but it is a handy little bit of hardware.

ES Explorer is pretty good as is Solid Explorer
Quickpic is probably the best and most popular gallery/pic display app - however they were recently bought by a dodgy company (plenty of comments about the new owners Cheetah elsewhere). The last best version was 3.4.x.x (no cloud bs). Most of the other recent image browsers unfortunately dont come close.

If your looking for a camera app either Camerazoom MX or Open Camera are pretty good :)

Drippler is one of the popular android news aggregators. Appygeek is another.

Flipboard is good if you prefer magazine style news (you literally do flip from page to page

Naked browser is a cool alternative browser - light weight however you need to check if its meant for you

Tinfoil for Facebook is better than the official app (less resource hungry and kinder on battery life)

SD Maid - good cache and file cleaner app

Kittyplay good alternative if your looking for wallpapers/themes/ringtones

HERE is a good map alternative (made by Nokia unless im wrong)

I imagine there's no way to get an old version, right? Damn Apps..
Can't the cloud be disabled?
Here are the apps I prefer to have on most Android phones.

Hangouts
It should be already built into your device, so no need to download and install it, but it'll be a powerful messenger app. It can also be programmed to receive SMS's and is constantly updated.

Root Explorer
This is a file manager dedicated to rooted devices, but if your device isn't rooted, don't worry, it still works wonders on non-root devices and I basically recommend it for Android.

VLC
Sometimes, videos may not open properly on the default video player. VLC will sometimes do wonders with these videos so get em'. As a sidenote, Android does not need that the videos be converted to a proper resolution and format before being played. If it can play it, it will play it.

Keep or OneNote
This time you'll choose between Google Keep or Microsoft OneNote, and both of these are dedicated to storing your notes in the cloud. Its quite nice if you want to copy a long note to your PC and back to your phone.

Jota Text Editor
Do you do a lot of writing in text files? If so, Jota is a way to do it. The interface might be old, but the program itself is solid.

DiskUsage
When your memory is all full, DiskUsage will actually chart the size your files take in a nice looking interface that sorts everything by size and can be zoomed in and out to see in details what's happening with your phone memory. Highly recommend it if you run out of memory.

Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox
If you're a cloud storage user, these apps do the work of cloud usage. There's also MEGA who offers 50GBs but their problem is that they're from the same guy behind the defunct Megaupload. Won't delve into this much more.

Google Keyboard
I think its the best keyboard Android has to offer, although it lacks the thought of arrow keys to supplement it further, but the design can be set to two different design choices with different colors, and the keyboard itself is snappy and easy to use.

Smart App Lock
Might look at it if you're privacy aware. It basically locks your apps behind a lockscreen, among other things I forgot. Useful if you don't want anyone peeking into your personal documents without your explicit permission.

ScreenDim
If you want to use your phone comfortably overnights, but the screen at the lowest brightness is still bright for you, use this app to tone down the brightness even further than the phone will allow you. You can even have your phone look so dark that basically you won't be able to see anything with a light source in the room.

Greenify
It now works without root, but the more deeper functions of it still need root. However, it will help in keeping your RAM from being full by idle apps running in the background as well as save more of your battery. It will keep your device tight and in place.

As for apps for rooted phones, Titanium Backup is the very first thing you should install as a root user. It allows you to backup the apps themselves and their data, and restore them on another rooted phone. It basically holds my device tight. Lucky Patcher is a good choice for patching apps for whatever reasons you've got. Adaway is an adblocker for all of Android. Foldermount and Link2SD are good if you plan to store tons of games and your internal memory is holding you back, Foldermount being dedicated to mounting folders to your SD card and Link2SD dedicated to mounting your apps to a dedicated partition on your SD card. Oh, get Xposed Installer while you can, that's an even more powerful set of root framework and I recommend you get it, especially for Greenify.

I hope I did my best here!

EDIT: Moved Greenify from the rooted apps to the normal apps; as Greenify no longer requires root to run its basic functions but only needs it for more advanced functions.

Link2sd -- older versions used to be good. Look at the reviews from last 12 months though - people have started to have issues with this program :(.

Maybe. If you can find an alternative to it that moves my apps to the SD card, I'm all up for the alternative. Here's the deal, I can't leave Link2SD without an alternative. My 5GB (that's the actual internal memory it has) phone has a ton of apps and now I've barely just kept a clean 1GB empty. So if Link2SD is bad, I'd need to know a better program that does the same thing if not better. If that program proves its worth over Link2SD, its so byebye for me.

All i can say is, worked great on android 2.3 a while back, on a 4.2 and 4.4.2 mobile link2sd wont recognize two partitions partitioned correctly for use - which makes the link ability to be useless. Lucky both those mobiles have 16 and 32 internal memory luckily so i dont need to rely on it. It IS more useful on a phone with low internal memory...sorry i dont know any alternatives. As long as it works for you, use it :)
