I'm new to GOG, so I'm not sure if this is the right discussion for this topic. Feel free to point me elsewhere. Just started a GOG account and got a game (Heroes of Might and Magic III). I also downloaded an HD mod for the game, but I can't figure out how to run it from Galaxy. Maybe I can't. The mod uses its own launcher, so I would have to have Galaxy point to the HD launcher instead of the game executable. I've been trying to figure out how to do that, but I haven't been successful so far. Any help would be appreciated.

If I remember correctly, for every game there should be an option under "Manage Installation" to set other executables as default.

Celevan: I would have to have Galaxy point to the HD launcher instead of the game executable.
1. Either right-click the game in the Installed category or click the "More" button next to the Play button, choose Manage Installation, then Configure.
2. Click the Features tab.
3. Check "Custom executables / arguments" then click "Add another executable / arguments" and pick the executable in question.
4. You can then set the custom executable as the default, so it launches when you click the Play button. Otherwise, you can find it in the "More" button menu.

It's possible BUT the solution is cumbersome.

Step 1. Open GOG Galaxy launcher and select one of your installed games (e.g. Baldur's Gate EE).
Notice the "Additional executables" option.

Step 2. Choose following settings: "Manage installation" > "Configure" > scroll down a bit a place a tick for "Custom executables / arguments". A scroll down list with all executables will open. Note that you can not delete or edit the original ones including the main game launcher.

Step 3. Scroll down to the end and click on "Add another executable / arguments". Choose whatever executable you want with or without specific arguments where needed and don't forget to label it properly and most importantly make it your "Default executable"

Have fun!

In my opinion GOG Galaxy is good for installing and downloading games, not for running them and eating additional RAM.
