Define "spam". If promotional emails aren't to your liking, do you not know of the unsubscribe button?
Like LegoDnD said, or block the sender perhaps?

You can actually opt out of any email from GOG if you decide to.
Just hover over your username, choose Orders & Settings.
From there, click on Subscriptions and clear the checkbox on Get notified about our deals and important announcements.
Hope that helps.

OP has 35 games, most of which were probably free giveaways. Big spender!

The mails obviously worked, they made you come to the site (to complain). Mission accomplished.

Define "fake". As in, fake tits (= bigger and better than real ones), or like fake ears (= funny)?

EDIT: It does indeed seem that the "unsubscribe" link in the GOG.com marketing emails points to a "404 uh oh nothing here..." page, so the link seems to be broken. However, it is still possible to unsubscribe through:

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/alright_so_heres_how_things_are_going_to_go/post4

I guess I could open a ticket to GOG for that... Someone has forgotten to update that link, possibly.

I would like to contest your evaluation here - they may be bigger, but not always better than the real ones :P.

It's good that we are discussing the really important things on these nice outrage threads at least :D.

Nope, I'm not being paid for this. I'm not mocking you for not wanting the small number of marketing emails from GoG, more for not using the unsubscribe button or basic email filtering. Although I can see how you didn't make the distinction.

If you're finding the unsubscribe button doesn't work, there's a process that you need to go through to escalate complaints that depends on jurisdiction. Perhaps you should try the tools at your disposal before starting another "Oh, I'm going to boycott the site" thread. Or, just join the fun on the Boycotting GoG 2021 thread in General discussion if you feel the need to tell everyone about it.

A ticket opened towards GOG.com support:

The unsubscribe-link in marketing emails does not work.
https://email2.gog.com/click.html?x=a62e&lc=MidJ&mc=v&s=RzDv&st=GSvDmZ&u=G&z=cnxt8Nx&
It leads to a "404 Oh noes there is nothing here" page.

EDIT: Not sure, I tried it again and it worked, and I don't think GOG managed to change anything in between... I have no idea what dictates whether it finds that page or not.

I agree, these marketing emails are getting too much, it can be 2 or 3 a day. Pointless “sale” after “sale” or special discount.

Well, it can't be THAT easy, can it...?
