I'm old, old enough not to have the slightest idea what GTFIH means. Am I free not to GTFIH now? (I'm 47 by the way, old enough, I've seen enough of life to tire of it).

jeffkiwi: ha, well we shall see what happens with my life. I'm very interested in the crises around the world today. Is anyone else into that sort of stuff but still enjoying TEH GAMES? The more I watch the news the more harshly I judge certain games.
If you mean political stuff, eg, you watch a lot of news about the Mid-East that makes you angry / upset so FPS's based around the Mid-East don't resonate with you anymore, that's understandable. There's a lot more to games though (Sci-Fi, fantasy, humor, Steampunk, puzzle games, etc) that isn't based around modern-day politics. As for "if it bleeds, it leads" style news itself, I find people are generally happier watching less news not more. That doesn't mean be ignorant of world events, just don't feel like you have to take the whole world on your shoulders personally.

Rounding up all the old geezers in one thread? That sounds mighty suspicious, young man. I'm outta here. ;)
You think you are old? Listen son, I served in three World Wars before your ancestors were even born, so don´t tell me... hey wait, what was the topic again?

I fought in the Great War against Sauron.
Oh, my old bones still ache, even today.
I am older than dirt and still enjoy my version of "gaming". I enjoy my point and click adventures.

Now GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!!
I'm 27 as well, should I stop playing games too? Is it like an unwritten rule?
Questions over questions...hmmm...
I'm so old that I used to play the original coffee table Space Invaders machine on the way home from school (don't tell my mum, she'd still give me a whoopin if she found out).
I used to play Pong on an original Atari (was it the 2600?) when they were both new and shiny.

And I'm never quitting gaming for as long as body and mind hold up.

I also played the table Pac-Man and that golf game with the giant ball that usually ended up in several spilled drinks and injuries as the night progressed. It was like Wii decades before the actual Wii.
