This is unfuckingbelievably out of control. Prices of the 1080ti's have nearly DOUBLED. No, that's not a typo.

Here's a screen shot of the best deals there are right now... i.e. the "cheap ones" These were in the low 700's not long ago (weeks... not months).

I was looking at one that had an old price, $869.99 but it was shown as Out of Stock. Oh well, I thought, maybe that one will be okay when they get it back. So I clicked on it. When it got to the actual page.... the price wasn't $869.99 any more. IT WAS $1,399.99.

God Damned Miners.

I've got all of my parts except a GPU. And if It's going to be my last rig (it is) there's no sense in going with anything except the 1080ti to future proof it as much as possible (please don't bother posting on here "Wait for the ........." due out in XXXXX months." This is ALWAYS true. ALWAYS. So please don't waste your time)

All I want is a 1080ti. Is there anywhere in this whole world I can buy one for less than $900?

NOTE: For those that might have read my last thread on this subject I had posted a bid on two of them at E-Bay for sort of kind of reasonable prices... still higher than they were but still at least less than $1,000.00. And I was told that on the last couple of days the miners would come in and the price would go up. Yep. Both sold for over $1,300.

God. Damned. Miners.

ADDED: Except the TitanX. It appears that must be available at the Nvidia store. All of the rest of the cards have a "Notify Me" button.

Like you I am very frustrated and tired with all this. And I didn't even want a 1080ti, just a 1060 6GB or an AMD RX 580 8GB would be enough for me for 1080p Witcher 3. I think at some point I will give up and just buy a 1050ti, since everything else including rx 570 is crazy expensive here (in Europe that is)

I'm so fed up. I don't wish the miners ill will but I wish all of the folks who want to mine hurry up and get their damned operations set up and let the gaming card market refresh itself.

I just bought a TitanXp for $1,138.00. Stars Wars Edition. It was $62 cheaper than the regular old TitanXp. And way cheaper than all of the 1080ti's at Newegg, Amazon, or Ebay. I don't know much about the Titan's but the specs sure looked like it's performance should be close to the 1080ti.

Thanks. 3 to 7 days delivery it said so I'm guessing it will be here by next weekend. Have to actually put all these parts I've got together then. Oh boy.... if I can screw up a one car parade just think what I can do putting a PC together.....

the Titan Xp is good for gaming but meant for semi-professionals who want to get some work done with their GPU. It's a tiny bit faster (in video games) than the 1080Ti, but wasn't really relevant for gamers since the extra charge was quite hefty. The hardware magazine I read concluded that the 1080Ti delivers 95% of the Titan Xp's gaming performance at half its price. Back then, you'd be stupid to get a Titan Xp for gaming alone. But that was before miners went nuts...

It's a tiny bit faster (in video games) than the 1080Ti, but wasn't really relevant for gamers since the extra charge was quite hefty. Heh, yeah. At $1,138.00, the TitanXp is now cheaper than the 1080ti. That's how crazy things are now. After reading some Nvidia forums and the lack of Nvidia response... I was beginning to think I was either going to have to pay $1,400 for a 1080ti, pay twice as much as a lesser card is worth (because they've all just about doubled in price too), or do without a GPU at all. At $1,138.00 it's certainly more than I wanted to spend, but right now it's almost the sane choice.

What real.geizterfahr said. The Titan should actually be slightly more performant than the 1080 ti you wanted. Lots of money for a single piece of hardware, but at least it looks like you finally found a GPU that meets your needs and should be future proof for quite a few years. I hope you also have a suitable PSU to power that thing! Are you building the PC yourself, or is someone doing it for you? Good luck with it, and let us know how it performs, once it's all set up.

Oohhh... PSU... yeah... I hope so too. I'm thinking it should be enough though... it's 1050. IIRC I used the Newegg PSU calculator and put in two GPU's thinking I was going to go SLI. So even though this is a power hog, I guess it won't use more than two??? Maybe I should go back to Newegg and check the PSU calculator again. lol

ADDED: I just re-did it and with two 1080ti's it came up with 942 Watts. So with 1050 I should be okay with one TitanXp. I hope. lol

1050W PSU will easily suffice and is plenty overkill if it is of any better quality. Now I am worried about my 500W PSU and my new GPU :-S

Don't worry. You'll never need the full 1050W of your PSU. Even a SLI-System with two 1080 Tis would never need the 942W you got from the calculator. It'll be pretty hard to get your full system to run at an absolute 100% load (both GPUs, CPU, all your drives, RAM, cooling). 1050W is overkill. But it's not bad to have such a PSU. It'll run more efficient and live longer than a "normal" PSU that's running near it's limit.
