The DLC is alright, but the AI felt stripped back to me; the real game is where it's at.The dlc's not bad, it's a fantastic virtual version of the film, but I just wish there was more of that "whoah" factor. Still, you should still get it, as you are literally reenacting a scene from the film.

I figure that I will pick up a copy when Xmas rolls around. That should be enough time for an ultimate edition to be available.

I mean in terms of bug-fixing and expansions. Sides, I tend to hold games in low regard until I play them - the less expectations I have, the more likely that I won't be disillusioned.

Thanks for the review mate. I will probably grab it on a sale (my poor wallet it's always hungry, so i can't afford it at full price, plus i'm planning on a new rig for newer games - my old E6850 EE dual core shows its limits now).

You ever notice that an Alien hunts people exactly like a cat hunts for their prey?

Yeah, been thinking about that - often it feels like the Alien can kill the player at any time it wants, and that it just enjoys itself. So yes, a cat with a massive, phallic head.

And cats like to sit and wait for their prey, then leave, then come back to the same spot like 10 minutes later, hoping the prey came out of it's hiding place from thinking the cat left to hunt elsewhere..

I regret that I'm really not into the survival horror genre, as everyone is praising this game, and I'm very curious about it. But I just don't have patience for this kind of thing. I like stealth games, but only if I'm the predator, so to speak. Like Hitman, or Mark of the Ninja. The idea of being constantly low on everything, taking a painfully long time sneaking around or hiding and being mostly entirely hopeless if detected just does not appeal to me much.

Is there some very low difficulty setting in the game, for someone who just wants to go through the story? I always felt like the Alien universe was not explored enough in the movies (don't even mention Prometheus, just... don't), so I would like to see if Isolation rectifies that, but sneaking around for twenty minutes just to have my face bitten off because I cast a shadow in the wrong place or something would make me quitt long before the end credits.

So, first of all, the story is not worth it. It provides a nice look into the Alien universe, and it does expand it a bit, especially with decoded logs from Nostromo, buuut it doesn't really reveal anything new about the creatures themselves and only very little about the space race, various other corporations and whatnot. If you're really only interested in that, I would recommend you watching a longplay or a let's play (if you're not a fan of idiots screetching into the mic, there's always Helloween) I suppose you could play it on low difficulty and just attempt to cheese trough the game, but I can't imagine how could it be enjoyable.

Excuse me, Prome-what? There wasn't any Alien-related movie done since the release of Alien3 DC. Shame no more information on Space Jockey exists.
