snowkatt: im fine with a queen marathon as long as it aint the usual suspects
and how many songs from queen II are played on the radio anyway ?
NoNewTaleToTell: Yeah, that's actually the part I should've wrote haha. I'd be okay with the marathons if they'd just throw in some deep cuts! and how many songs from queen II are played on the radio anyway ?
the parts of news of the world and sheer heart attack that are NOT we are the champions we will rock you and killer queen ?
skipping a night at the opera except for the prophets song ?

GR00T: This is axactly what's wrong with 'Classic Rock' stations. I love 'Classic Rock', but I'm with you on this. As an example, not sure why we have to listen to Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven for the 12,000th time when we could be hearing something else like Custard Pie or In My Time of Dying from the band instead. But no, gotta be the same old same old. i dont like stairway to heaven i think its awfull i'd rather listen to when the levee breaks

Makes me very happy to see Dire Straits on here. I can't disagree with Love Over Gold or Brothers in Arms but the one that opened my eyes the most was the first, eponymous album.

I'm a huge NIN fan too, my old avatar was Reznor screaming into a sandwich. Anyways, albums:
NIN: LEFT side of The Fragile and Downward Spiral
Hole: Live through this. People can hate on Courtney love all they like, but as a girl growing up I loved her music and still do.
Moody Blues: Days of Future Passed. An album that goes from morning until night. amazing.
Beastie Boys: Paul's Boutique
Dandy Warhols: Tales from an Urban Bohemia & Come Down
Decemberists: Castaways and Cut Outs
Ween: Chocolate and Cheese
Interpol: Turn On the Bright Lights
REM: Automatic For the People & New Adventures in Hi-Fi
Sonic Youth: Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star
Stone Temple Pilots: Core
Clutch: Elephant Riders
I guess these are all albums that have stayed the test of time and I listen to them quite frequently and love from beginning to end.
And i'm sorry, but best led zepplin song is Bron-Y-Aur (not stomp)

Dark Reality - Am Ende Des Weges - Changed my perception of music, it is so simple and made me realize that it doesn't need much to createa strong atmosphere;
My Dying Bride - As the Flowers Whithers - Blew my mind, dark, dirty, tortured and... beautiful;
Lacrimosa - Angst - Spend a entire week listening only this album, over and over. Haunting, introspective, lonesome. Still looking for something like it.;
Tiamat - Wildhoney / Lurker of Chalice - Lurker of Chalice / NIN - And All that Could Have Been (Still) - Albums that makes me so calm and serene (and it helps me with insomnia). Simple melodies, powerful atmosphere, sound experimentations and such makes them stand out for me;
Ludicra - Discography - Fast, aggressive, critical, crazy, and simple, and melodic and... "grey", as in life;
And many, many others, too much albums and too many personal feelings towards them. Also ignoring the historical ones because... well, I don't know... reasons.
Edit: Megadeth - The System Has Failed - All the songs, all the lyrics, all the riffs, all the solos, absolutely everything about this album, shame about Mustaine nowadays because this is what made me like him... oh well.

More:
Mushroomhead - XIII
Cold and bleak, but very cathartic. The mixture of electronica and piano and metal create a very gothic sounding mixture.
Suicide Silence - Cleansing
Pure misanthropic catharsis to me. I play this album when I'm in a bad mood and I come out feeling better. A cleansing indeed.
Bring Me The Horizon - There Is a Hell...
Very bittersweet album, the first track Crucify Me gives me chills, Lights' guest vocals and the way the whole album just hits you, very good.
Front Line Assembly - Echogenetic
Holy. Shit. This album's production is AMAZING. This band has been around for a long, LONG time and they've switched their sound a number of times, but I think this right here is my favorite of theirs. It's dark and unapologetic, but man, this was probably my favorite album of 2013, I listened to it non-stop that year.
Korn - Self-Titled (Korn)
So, this band's discog kinda aged... oddly, however their first album is still the funky, dark, and gritty debut I remember it being. An aggressive start, and by the end the vocalist is sobbing. What a rollercoaster...
Slipknot - Self-Titled (Slipknot)
I really don't care for this band's current sound, but Slipknot's first two albums, "Slipknot" and "Iowa", are so fucking raw and angry and misanthropic and relentless that I just can't help but put them on and just let the anger flow through me :D
Gravediggaz - 6 Feet Deep
This album is funky as fuck, sporadic flows, insane ramblings, covered from head to toe in dark humor. I bump my head to every track on this album. Plus, the cherry on top, its headed by RZA from Wu-Tang Clan.
Wu-Tang Clan - 36 Chambers
Again, funky 90's hip-hop. Gritty, raw, brilliant word play, brilliant flows, there is a reason this is considered one of the best hip-hop albums. One of the best supergroups ever.
