I will buy Alan Wake but now, with them saying digital only Remedy have defacto made GOG my only choice.

Oh and the argument of going digital to keep the price down, pull the other leg. The excuse for digital on console was used as an excuse to make releases cheaper, esp. if digital only, which turned out to be a lie.

edit: Case in point, Wipeout HD was $20 but had nowhere NEAR the content of a physical release and was loaded with DLC that likely made it cost more then a standard physical release on the PS3.
Mega Man 9 and 10 were one of the few times this reason has turned out to be true.

I do hope it will be released here, as I absolutely loved the first Alan Wake, but to be honest it's not a pressing matter for me. For one thing I'll need a new PC to play it, and for another after the colossal disappointment that Control was, I'll be wary about buying it even at half price. And seeing that it has a second, new main playable character also didn't exactly thrill me.

Could be a lengthy wait but given the deal between GOG and Epic (Galaxy client stuff - assuming that deal is still a thing) I'd say quite possible.

We still haven't gotten Quantum Break for some reason.

On Steam and the Microsoft store, yeah.

I heard somewhere recently (pcgamer maybe?) that Alan Wake 2 was completely funded by epic so it's not likely to get a gog release (or steam for that matter). :(

Alan Wake 2 is the first big release from Epic Games' new publishing wing, which fully funded its development, and so it'll be an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC when it releases this October.

Epic Games published this game so I don't think it will ever release on GOG or Steam.

I have no hopes that it will get released on GOG, we didn't even get the remaster for part 1.
I preordered it on Epic. Online connectivity is one of them (decision making games evaluating what the community choses are a pita for offline players). Another one are poor sales and therefore no reason to invest money into removing or changing the online part. Also it is a licenced game, was supposed to be accompanied by a TV show. Who knows who holds what rights now. There's a lot we don't have :) More than AW-R however I miss th Another World version supporting more languages and higher res backgrounds.

I don't think the devs or publishers care at all about GOG customers who bust on not buying Alan Wake 2 ever.

If GOG had a massive market share, then things would be different, but it doesn't, so they aren't.

Alan Wake II, like it was already said, is being published by Epic so it'll be exclusive to its store when it releases, just like Alan Wake Remastered was, and still is.

However, there's still hope that it might release on GOG and even Steam. The reason is that Epic recently said the following:

"EGS’ Steve Allison said these new Epic Games Publishing titles will be EGS exclusive on PC for "a long time”."

So "the long time" seems to be the key here. If they were longtime exclusives, wouldn't Epic wanted to say so? That long time probably has to do with how long Epic has the publishing rights to the games. Alan Wake IP still belongs to Remedy, so when the publishing rights runs out, they're is free to put it everywhere. It's a similar situation to the first game where Microsoft hold the publishing rights to it.
Anyway, if the game ever gets to be released on GOG, it'll take many years most likely.

As for Quantum Break, the IP belongs to Microsoft, so that's most likely the reason why the game is not on GOG.

Sometimes "a long time" can mean a year and a half, while "coming soon" can be more than 10 years, it's all relative. Alan Wake couldn't win my heart, even though the idea was extremely intriguing - so I choose bust over Alan Wake 2. Especially since many years will pass before GOG agrees to take my *dirty* money.
