I just want to know one thing.

The article mentions children's heads exploding. How prominent are children and how old are they in this game?

If we're talking really young children/babies, it's just gonna bother me like Dead Space 2's kindergarten, and I don't play games to be upset.

So if anyone knows, please clue me in. The game looks interesting, but I don't want to go through a level killing thousands of crying babies.

From what I've heard, you're basically a disembodied soul in hell and you'll have to possess other demons to progress. I have no clue whether you'll do a lot of killing in each possession, but the trailer made it seem like the general theme of the game is one of helplessness. But it's probably safe to assume this one is not for the squeamish.

Oh, I'm fine with all that. In fact, I'm very interested in the game.

It's just the young children/babies that upset me. Especially if there's a constant crying. It's unnecessary in my opinion. There are many, many other ways to disturb people without involving suffering babies.

However, I wouldn't want any game censored. If suffering babies is what some developers want, they can go their way, I will go mine.

tremere110: Could be Sony or Microsoft.
To the best of my knowledge Sony doesn't have a parity clause (they would be pretty dickish to make fun of Microsoft's if that were the case).

Also, nothing I've seen about Microsoft's parity clause suggests that the devs couldn't patch in the cut content post release. The clause seems to be strictly tied to launch and can apparently be overcome with exclusive content, that's two options how they could have added the cut content to the PC version without losing the ability to release on Xbox.

I still believe that Steam is the problem but oh well, it's all speculation and odds are that the situation will never be fully disclosed, especially officially, considering all the confidentiality agreements involved and everything.

I guess then the whole game seems to be incompatible with you, considering the premise.

Apparently, community is vocal. Devs lied and in more than one field.

1. They waited for the last moment, to announce censored content and it being final and irreversible...
1,5. Which unfortunately, isn't only a couple of seconds in two ending scenes, but expands over in many in-game footage and graphical details; comparison against Demo and feedback from early access backers, too:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/487720/discussions/0/1694922526918039631/

2. They said that today, the "comparison video" was to arrive...
2,5. Guess what? They lied again! Only when a certain player gets a special disc from inside an exclusive backer tier pack, she can only stream it:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/487720/discussions/0/1697174779843587274/

3. Talk is, they wanted to sell at consoles, too, which was what earned them the ratings and the "transgression" status, unless they conformed. They also wanted Steam exclusively, which is also known for "ethics-curation" (like certain games that were greenlit in the past and then removed, like KTF - sorry, won't say its full name, since angry zealots who ruin games and accuse others of doing that, will start shrieking something mighty).

4. They are completely untrustworthy and breached the trust of the backers. Who backed up, enticed by the promised features and the "initial vision" of that project... Exactly as talks in their official place unveils.

It's the devs, people! Besides, now, they frantically ban anyone who pinpoints their lies of the past and try to warn others; even those who don't use strong language, or suggestive things. Ah and last but not least:

5. Greatest lie in the story (gog-wise conversation). No religious fanatics caused the ruckus. It was "activists", alright, since female parts were one of the first things to get the "silent" censor treatment.

6. They said after one playthrough, you get some uncensored content. Guess what? Lies again! Players who beat the game, already go so far, as to claim, this was a nasty marketing/PR a$$pull, in order to mitigate damage from refunding demands! Because, after beating the game with playtime, you won't be eligible for it! And they made you expect something, which also isn't delivered, exactly as players testified again, themselves.

Now i finally understand, why so many people, are against Kickstarting. And let's not even speak concerning delays of keys.

I was waiting on Scorn, anyway. :p
Censorship with adults is bad and I`m sick of self-righteous people telling us what we can and can`t see in our games.

There's a Q&A regarding the censorship on Reddit.
They've certainly lost pretty much all their credibility, let's see if they'll lose the last bit after the Q&A as well,
with all the lies they've come up with so far, I don't mind them digging their own grave. :P
Ninja Turtles started out as a violent and edgy superhero parody, and ended up as kid-friendly cartoons. I guess it's the same universal pattern here. Edgy consumer product gets big, wants to fit in with the big boys, and sells out.

It's a shame, of course. Still, the pompous outrage about "censorship" seems a bit silly.

That's like not at all what happened here. These guys stuck with their "edgy" game until the very end when external factors just forced them to tone it down a little bit. It's still a super edgy product and their hands were forced. I honestly don't see the connection.

Fairfox: are you an anarchist?
Huh? Because he/she doesn't approve of censorship?

Have you been drinking again? Bad foxie, bad!
