They remastered the Age of Empires 1 with new models, animations, 4k.,
Avaible for only windows 10/xbox(maybe).

I'd be excited if the Age of Empires games would actually come here. Alas the chances are very low.

At least we still have AoE2HD. Not sure why they decided to remaster the first one. A HD remaster of Galactic Battlegrounds would be far more welcome

If you watch the trailer in the end there is just windows 10 logo. And it's mentions xbox multiplayer play(I'm not sure if they are meaning console or platform one) But I'm sure it will be only available for windows 10 as os.

Ah, but do they add things like queues for building units or farms that automatically rebuild like in AoK?

AoE is a great game... but as with a lot of old RTS games it lacks in many modern features that make it that much easier / more to play.. not sure I would play a remaster / remake without some modernisation.

Yeah, I'd rather have both I+II DRM-free here on GOG, but who knows if Microsoft would care enough. It's still very nice to see AoE get a new life. It's a great game. They added the unit queue system since AoE's expansion Rise of Rome. I'm sure this remake will also have it. The players would riot otherwise. :))

Farm regeneration? That was not in AoE, and I'm not sure if it was featured in AoE II. We'll see. :)

It was very much in AoE2, available from the Mill.

Anyway,
* Windows 10
* Xbox Live multiplayer
* Remade (not remastered) graphics with a lot of fluff nobody asked for
* "New and improved" gameplay, whatever that means

Forget everything you know about AoE2HD and AoMEE, this'll be a mess.

But it would be nice to be able to queue technologies and improvements too, not only units. ;)

Farms automatically get rebuilt in AoE 2, but you explicitly have to deposit wood in your mill for it, which also is a bit annoying.

Looks really nice but man I would have liked age of empires 2 complete edition of this, Now that would be bad ass. and it coming here would be even more bad ass!

If they did a version which had all the content from all three games in one remastered version (shouldn't bee too hard), that would be of interest. Shame it looks like they are going to do each game separately, and like as not it will end up on Windows Store (or Games for Windows Dead mk2)!
