That is impressive. High contrast/resolution/refresh rate, decent response time and G-sync. I miss G-sync on my Sony 42" TV. Alas, I guess these are going to be pricey.

If similar existing models are any indicator, I'm expecting to spend $1300 to $1500 on it.

mobutu: I think DP 1.4+ is needed to achieve that, meaning no release this year?
No, DP 1.3 is enough to do 3440x1440@144.

I'd much rather get a non curved monitor so I can see from a distance as well. Never understood the need for curvature, especially for TVs considering you're limiting the viewing distance for expensive monitors.

This gave me a great idea for another thread though, since I don't want to derail this one.

The larger the screen is, the more it will benefit from being curved. Obviously it makes no sense to curve 40" TVs and 24" monitors. But once you begin getting into 35"+ then the curvature contributes to your experience tremendously. When it comes to TVs I am not entirely sure what size would be good to curve. Perhaps it depends on how closely you sit when you watch/play something on that TV.

Yes, it will be awesome when viewed from the proper distance, but isn't it limiting to have screens that have a viewing distance problem like that? If you only view that screen at that particular distance though, it will probably be better than a flat one.

As a side not, you can probably get away with watching more risque stuff on a curved monitor because people looking from the sides won't be able to see as easily.

Haha, no, it's not that curved. =)

As to the distance, it is probably more of a problem for TVs rather than monitors. You are always more or less the same distance from your monitor. But even if you move, the viewing angles are so good at this point, that you won't actually lose quality by moving further away. Admittedly you won't gain the benefit either, but you won't be punished for it — that's the important part.
Were I a dedicated and hardcore sim player, a screen like that would certainly be a nice thing to have.
or maybe this asus:

27"
4K = UHD = 3840x2160
native (not overclocked!) 144Hz High Refresh Rate
DP 1.3
AHVA = IPS
tilt, swivel, pivot and height stand adjustments
FreeSync(amd) or GSync(nvidia) compatible
