i just upgrade os to catalina and some of my game doesn't work.

Isn't that the 64-bit only one? So all 32-bit programs will stop working. And highly doubt there are updates coming. See other places are removing them from sale if they had them. Blame Apple for that one...

Edit: Oh, pardon, seems like GOG is busy updating Mac installers for games using DOSBox with a new 64-bit build, so after that update you'll need to redownload and reinstall them and they should work. For non-DOSBox games though, I still wouldn't hold hope.

And of course it does. As I said, all 32-bit programs. Saw that Steam already stopped selling Mac versions of plenty of games due to this.

For the Windows equivalents of your Mac games your only hope is Crossover in the short term

I wouldn't expect the experience to be great and that will only allow you to run the Windows versions of your 32bit games, not the Mac versions.

If you want to run your Mac games the best bet is to dual-boot with the previous version of MacOS but really you're better off dual-booting with Windows. The games will be faster than before and you'll have more of them.

Apple isn't going to fix it, and I doubt GOG has the libs needed to make the games work, nor the legal permission.

That's true. Apple has made it clear that they're discarding 32 bit apps once and for all and making their OSs all 64 bit. And I always thought Windows would make this kinda mistake. I was wrong.

Guess this will mark the end of gaming for Mac users.

I am a neophite when it comes to "dual booting." How do I accomplish that? I have Catalina and I agree that this was a big mistake. My mistake was upgrading. I simply forgot that Catalina wouldn't work with 32 bit games. I could find no way to revert back, so I am stuck. Thanks!

There are several guides out there but it is not super easy, sadly. Make backups of your files before you try and have some other means of accessing the internet for reading. Your hard drive, or ssd, must not be very full as you need tens of GiB at a minimum.

I would say the likelyhood of you screwing something up on your first attempt is 80%, hence make backups.

Use the Boot Camp Assistant app on your Mac (probably in the Other folder, but if you just press cmd+space for spotlight and search you'll find it) to set up a Windows partition, which you can then boot to by holding down alt/option at startup. You'll need to buy and download a copy of Windows first though.

Maybe I should wait on GOG? Earlier someone posted that GOG is working on a fix through DOSBox. Hey Cavalary, how do I find out when GOG has updated to the 64-bit build?

Not being a regular Mac user (more like once in ten years) I forgot about that thing called Bootcamp, which I presume is dual booting made easier.

On the game cards there is a place for change logs but GOG often forgets to write anything there where there are just installer changes. It looks like they removed the mention of Mac compatibility now unless they have a 64bit version so look here: https://www.gog.com/games?page=1&sort=popularity&system=osx_106,osx_107 Not on the list? Look up the game. A DOS game that used to be sold here for Mac? Wait for a 64bit version to come. How to know when? ..... Yes GOG, how? Sigh!

Like Themken said, they seem to have removed Mac listing from games that are 32-bit only, so if the game doesn't show as available on Mac on the game page anymore it likely is 32-bit only.
And they do seem to add update flags for these changes, even if they may not add changelogs, so can see which Mac games in your library show up as updated. And/or you can try to look for the games on the what did just update thread.
