Yes, and it's bit tricky, but you can run past guards, knock them off/distract or just wear the guard suit which is upgradable.

Pretty much all of the Myst games and the various clones it's spawned meet what you're looking for here. Quern, Schizm, etc. Even The Witness and all of the Amanita Design games would work (Machinarium, Botanicula, etc.). If you're willing to use Steam, check out the series called The Room.
