Hi everyone, I am looking for good quality adventure games as stated above that are playable on a computer. For instance such as the game 'URU' from the Myst sagas. Can anyone suggest a few? Thanks in advance.

Syberia is a solid series to give a shot, Another 2 are Dreamfall and The Longest Journey. great stories to invest time in and see great character build up.
Pajama Sam! (though these are targeted at kids) Vol. 1 is the best deal on GOG, two good adventure games. Vol. 2 unfortunately only has 1 good adventure, though it's still a "treat".

Journey of a Roach - a humorous adventure title with no dialogue - everything is visual
Grim Fandango - a true classic and a must play for adventure game lovers
Any of the Lucas Arts adventure games (Sam & Max, Monkey Island etc)
you can't go wrong with lucasarts.
There are literally hundreds of games that fit your description. Perhaps you could narrow it down by giving a genre, or setting, or some other criteria?

But just to give a couple of titles (and ignoring the obvious ones, such as Sierra, LucasArts, etc.):

- Machinarium
- The Shivah
Broken Sword, Gabriel Knight and Black Mirror series.

If you are looking for a FPP Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy.
Lily Looking Through has no violence. From the games with minimal violence I recommend Runaway games: A Road Adventure, The Dream of the Turtle, A Twist of Fate.
Gabriel Knight 1, Broken Sword 1 & 2, Syberia 1
Sam & Max? It's all good Saturday morning cartoon fun!

But yeah, i have a hunch there's a coming storm of deals you may enjoy (. ). )
If you don't mind old graphics, get a bunch of the old Sierra titles. Quest for Glory is a little combat heavy (but not very violence heavy, if that's a distinction you care about), but most of their other series are quite adventure heavy. King's Quest, Space Quest, Conquest of the Longbow (and the much jankier precursor, Conquest of Camelot), Lara Bow titles. Sierra and LucasArts dominated the market for DOS adventure games in the 80s and early to mid 90s, so there's a lot of good stuff there if you don't mind the dated graphics. (LucasArts generally had better graphics so if that matters, lean that way)

If youre specifically looking for adventure games like Myst that are focused on solitary puzzle solving in a 3D environment rather than on interactions with other characters, you might like Ether One. Or The Witness (which is more of a puzzle game though, not so much an adventure game).

Blood is quite good. Lots of puzzles, no combat.
There's such game!

Ghost of a Tale!
