One key problem is GOG deciding to NOT inform you whenever a VN is being sold in a censored state.
A bit of transparency would go a long way.
As things are now, one has to do some research every time, just in case it´s an incomplete product one is about to buy. Steam at least offers some uncensor patches now.
I want all my games on GOG, but not if they´re censored, and certainly not under false pretences.
If a game has only partial controller support, for instance, the corresponding tag warns so. It should be the same honesty applied to censorship at least, imo

Crisco1492: The uncensor patches are mostly simple things that even my mother could install, often linked in the forums of the games themselves.
That's not the point. When an uncensor patch comes from the game developers for me it's a part of the game. And GOG should deliver complete games. I can live with it when GOG does not apply these patches by default, but they at least should deliver them as a game extra for download. Having to find and download these patches elsewhere or even having to register elsewhere to get these patches cannot be the solution.

That's even worse. You should know what you get before you buy a game (from the official game card!). And at least for me having to register elsewhere to get the full version of a game is a reason not to buy it.

A good quality adult game, is never anything other than a question about your credit card number, which, obviously you would be insane to give them - and yet, they keep advertising that shit you can never have EVERYWHARE.

Edit: and the ones that are on Steam, are complete trash.

tinyE: Well according my rating, most people in here think violence is good and sex is bad. XD
One day you'll have to explain that to me.

GOOD
BAD

Riiiiiiiiiight
And exploding heads and horror is okay, but show a nipple and it has to be rated R NC-17 or X. (for video games, M for Mature or Unrated)

KiNgBrAdLeY7: Also, games that aren't even AO rating and they are sold here, CENSORED! Even Fallout 1/2 are censored, among many other titles.
Not everything is censored here - I bought "Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude Uncensored" years ago, and it is absolutely uncensored, with animated boobs all over the place... Sadly, it doesn't run under Linux-based operating systems (once upon a time, I used to use Microsoft Windows-based operating systems), so I don't really play it anymore (I think it works under WINE - but I'm lazy).

Oh, and not only do both of the "Hotline Miami" games have loads of graphic violence, but "Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number" was actually banned in some countries (such as Australia) - yet they're both on here, in all their glory...

I agree. There is a lot of overreaction because IMO GOG only ██████ censors ███████. If you ask me it's a lot of bull████ and when people like ███████ and █████ insist that GOG ███████ it really makes me mad and want to ████.

I have been using this forum for going on six years and never once have they told me, or tried to stop me, from using words like ████, ████, ███, or ████.

1. Fallout (Children are missing)
2. Fallout 2 (Children are missing)
3. Giants: Citizen Kabuto (Nudity covered up)
4. Gobliiins (Nudity covered up)
5. Bloodrayne (Nazi swastikas are missing) [Note: All PC versions of this game are censored. The uncensored form only exists on consoles.] Return to Castle Wolfenstein works fine, on the other hand!
6. GRIS
7. Huniepop
8. Doom BFG Edition

Those are the known ones, mentioned in GOG fanpages like the GOG-wiki. THe latter though, isn't updated anymore... But at least, contains workarounds for the first few of the bunch. If there are more, nobody noticed, ergo stealthily censored games slide in here. And as i said, completely AO games like Agony, don't even make it to the store, even if their developers bothered to contact gog THRICE and the wishlist hit more than enough numbers to consider, since ages go!!! Something amiss with curation? With somebody responsible for decision making? Some guy over at marketing department, maybe? The only thing certain, is that GOG =/= Uncensored gaming, as many people erroneously believed, especially up till and few years back.

In cases like Fallout, there may be errors concerning certain gameplay decisions as various players report (or inability to make them), since it is actually more of a content removal, than censor cover-up! So, it is nasty.

Censor-wise, Ion Fury almost made it to No9, but thankfully, the braindead publisher had an epiphany at the very last moment. Will buy it, only to support the developers, who really suffered.

Hmm, AFAIK, these games have been censored by their creators and there is no way to purchase complete uncensored versions anywhere, anymore. Or am I wrong?

I am certain that's the case with GRIS though. I looked into it a while ago and found that the creators self-censored and never released a version with the nipples included. So it doesn't make sense to me that it gets included in these lists - that'd be like claiming any game is censored when its in-dev content is cut from the final version. I mean it sucks but... it's not like there's a complete version out there making GOG's version incomplete, or something. :s

Interesting! I thought they bent the knee and removed the "problematic content". So the game is uncensored and fine to purchase now?

Yes! I am going to get it, first chance at a sales! They won't censor, after all. We should always reward proper fanservice. Initially though, i thought about donating to Eduke project, for which only the DEVELOPER would get money, because the developer was in the receiving end of the directed hatred from the freak mobs and even developer himself, adviced fans in twitter communication, to "F_CK politics, the game is really good, grab it anyway you want it".

This type of developer is the best gamer bro. They should be supported heartily. The only thing stopping me from having bought this game already, is that publisher donated money to a dangerous org, in order to appease the subhomo mutagenis; but at the same time, i need an official, legit copy of the game, in my DRM-Free bookcase, to proudly expand my collection and display my filled shelf.

As for censor, you are wrong. Especially the fallouts, weren't by creation censored. In 2, there is even a perk, which requires interracting in a savage way, with the removed content. They were censored AFTER creation and in a manner, which affects/inconveniences gameplay and most possibly, potentially causes errors/crashes on, as various players have already reported.

As for other examples, GOG HAS A CHOICE, but chooses not to. Especially for DOOM, the wishlist is BUZZING activity-wise, concerning people demanding the OLD doom 3 + expansion package. We have yet to see that arriving. As GOG had a choice with Agony Unrated, which gog found it to be "too niche". I bet all my money, had gog released Agony, the Unrated version wouldn't be included, or even available, at all.

P.S. GOG started changing, albeit slowly, over the years. Old core policies are now being abolished, bro; and if you bothered enough to pay attention, STEALTHILY mostly, at that, with excuses and/or DIVERSIONS. Uncensored gaming is no longer in effect, round these parts, or at least wanted, desirable. It's TOO NICHE for gog store!!!

Which makes me wish they released the tools to pack/unpack textures/data so you could mod it and fix it

Or add new chapters/content! That would be sweet... 8 more guys to assassinate in Bloodrayne before it gets all weird...
