Anyone know if GOG intends to ever allow adult content games?

I get my others at various other sites, mostly patron sites.

Of course, if you ask me, "Adult Content" is a bullshit label.

I love violent games, but I refuse to believe that seeing a naked breast in a video game is somehow more harmful, graphic, or "adult" than blowing up/shooting countless people in a video game.

Game Censorship on something as cool as GOG makes me sad :(
Few things piss me off more than altering content.
They should just slap an Adult / nudity content logo on it and be done with it.
I care deeply about DRM free games, but no one has the right to alter content to suit their needs.
We are adults, not children!

Given The Witcher 3 and Kindred Spirits exist on GOG, it appears softcore adult scenes are acceptable. As much as I disagree with GOG's stance towards hardcore content, I can understand why they're not doing so (legal mess).

I just hope GOG is only holding back due to legal difficulties, and not out of fear of backlash from sensitive types. Especially those who'd use the "think of the children" argument about a store selling to both adults and kids. =_=

Hopefully GOG will eventually step up and make either a hidden-away adult section, or sister site. The market is starting to grow, whether you agree with it or not, and there's a looooot of money to be made there.

AFAIK, the censored versions of Fallout have existed for a long time and it's Bethesda's choice on which version to sell here.

I think a few of GOG's visual novels are VERY "adult", featuring explicit lesbian or straight sex. Shining Song Starnova, for example, features fourteen adult scenes, with seven of them showing some intercourse.

But I agree that there should be more genres. Not everyone plays VNs.

While i generally agree with your sentiment, Agony is a trash game. There are are far better games to carry a flag for. Such as: Studio Lillith VNs

No they aren't. GOG carries censored VNs.

And when censored versions aren't available, GOG simply does not carry those VNs at all.

If GOG truly allowed adult VNs, then it's selection of VNs would be vastly larger than it is now, and also, the VNs that it carries would never be censored.

Your post makes it sound like GOG proudly carries all VNs regardless of how adult they are. But that's the opposite of reality.

That's true outside the US and fundamentalist 'religious' nations. But your self-appointed 'moral guardians' were always more afraid of naked nipples than they are of naked weapons, gore and murder. Just like the Sharia guardians or orthodox morality apostles in other countries. Somehow all Abrahamic religions seem to come with a fear of sex, when you take them too serious.

Most of the times you can apply a decensor patch.
Unfortunately said patch needs to be bought sometimes.
It is certainly not ideal but i'd rather have this than said games not being sold at all.

Obviously this is not a B&W situation and there are many variables but....
