trentonlf: I see Avernum 2: Crystal Souls is on your wishlist. I happen to have an extra key for that so check your chat. You've been working extra hard so this is a very small thank you. I will see if can come up with some more keys later for you.

Thanks for all your hard work! It is really appreciated :)
Oh. Thanks trent!

It's really no problem at all. The community on GoG is great, and I've been lucky to receive some generous gifts from a lot of great people, and since I'm not in a position financially to gift people back I decided to do what I can to help people :)

Just messing with you, adaliabooks. Great work! Checked a couple of the more problematic, and things look good. Cheers for your efforts and persistence, much appreciated.

Lol (literally laughing here, after the heart attack :P)

Great.
We're definitely getting there. I'll probably work on some of the small things next (saving review preferences, maybe hiding / turning off the search bar in the forum) before tackling the library and seeing what can be done with it.

Does anyone know if the old boxes and things were saved somewhere? I have a feeling someone backed them up somewhere but I can't remember who or where I saw that...

It's quite possible that it was JMich, but not sure.

If it's any help, I've not updated my GOGWiki page, and there's probably a good number of folks that haven't either - Mr MaGog may still have a list of those with a GOGWiki page.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I'll ask him, not sure whether having an option to use the old boxes will be possible or not, but I'll see what I can manage (if the assets are available)

Super!
Did some quick testing and it all looks good.

Here are my GOG related files. I don't think I ever archived the old boxes, though I think I may have a few of them that I used as a folder.jpg for my backups, but they are quite out of date atm. You are probably interested in the Game Images folder.

They are all archived on the wiki, you need to ask Barefoot_Monkey about the details. He even managed to restore the pictures of boxes that were gone after the account change mess for the legacy shelf view.

Thanks JMich, it was maybe someone else who said it then... I'm sure I remember someone having an archive of them all or something...

Aha!
Thanks moon :)
Knew I'd seen it somewhere.

I remembered this morning that Barefoot_Monkey made the complete legacy shelf available, came to post about it, and saw that Moon already did - cheers Moon.

Looks like this the assets issue is solved, waiting for adaliabooks' magic now!

So, just been doing some tests with the account page to see what's possible.

Changing games per page isn't going to be as easy as I'd hoped (there is an option there for productsPerPage, but changing it does nothing) but I'll just use the same method I used on the reviews and it should work.

As for looks, I've attached some pictures. The first two are trying to emulate the old style shelf more (the second one I've used a couple of legacy covers too), the third one is just reimplementing the full background and getting rid of the name card so it's just a picture.

Option three is probably easier (haven't spoken to Barefoot about the legacy stuff yet, just playing around with the stuff from my wiki page, but I'm not sure new games will have legacy covers, and squishing them doesn't look great), but doesn't quite look as nice as the old shelf did.

What do you all think?

Feature request (nice to have):
If one turns off "automatically sort and display reviews on page load", then no reviews are displayed at all.
Can you change this behaviour so that GOG's default review display (some (currently 5) number of reviews in some (unknown) order) is shown instead.
It would be useful when talking to people who don't use AF, to be able to see what the hoi polloi see.
Also useful in order to notice changes in GOG's default display.

I am not commenting on your library display suggestions, since I no longer use the library page for anything (except testing AF upon your request), so I am not a target audience.

Yeah, I can't remember if that was necessary or not (I think it was a side effect of some of the things I tried to get the reviews working at all)... I'll have a play around and see if it can be changed.

No problem, I know it's either very important to people, or not particularly important so don't worry if you have no strong views.

I know you're one of the people who misses the old style of shelf, so if you wouldn't mind casting your eye over the options in this post and letting me know what you think I would appreciate it.

Hmmm... of course the old box covers are really nice, but I doubt they are done for the games that were released after the account changes, so it does not make much sense to use them anymore since a mix would look probably weird. And I have to say the first option looks strange, the images look stretched.
So option three would probably the easiest and also the best.

But this seems like a lot of work, perhaps you should inquire how many people would be interested in this?

Because I for example dont really need it. As long as there is no manual sorting I dont really care about the design of the library (even if the old one was way nicer) since I spent at least time as possible there.

Yeah, if I was going to shrink them I'd try and use the old covers, but I'm doubt there will be any for newer games so I'd have to do something else...

It's not a lot of work actually, I can do most of that with CSS so it'll hardly be any effort at all.

Don't worry, manual sorting is on the list :)
It might not work exactly how the old one used to, but I've got some ideas that should work and not be too fiddly to use.
