It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

moonshineshadow: I did some more tests.
Firefox crashes for me only with the legacy mode. If I am using the gog default one, I can set the number of games to "all". But something is messed up there. The games that were in the standard setting on the last page (the one that was not full), are now shown after the first 100 games and not at the end.
avatar
adaliabooks: I imagine that may be a sort order issue... if it's sorting the numbers as text then it might do 1 10 2 3, so if you have 10 or more pages of games it might screw up the order...
Nope that can't be the reason, I have a bit more than 300 games, so no way that there are ten pages ;-)

adaliabooks: Even on 100? :/
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Yes, but not immediately. The Library loads (shelf and box art, though it takes ages), but after a couple of scrolls of the mouse wheel, Firefox freezes.

I'll roll back to change "Sort By", then update again, and try to test it.
Well that shouldn't be happening at all... :/

Really thought I might have it cracked this time...

Thanks Hyper.
If you put this link in your browser it will change the sorting to title in your library too.

Well.... I have no idea then XD

And you can't display all with only 300 games either?

How very very odd....

I can as long as I do it in the default gog library. Only problem there is this messed up sorting.
If I try display all in the legacy view Firefox either crashes or freezes.

I just tried and it also freezes when the setting is on 100 games per page in legacy mode and I switch to a page that is not the first one.

mrkgnao: But worse, if I set "100" and "Lecacy", it loads the regular GOG library display. However, as soon as I click on some other link (e.g. Community) it switches to "Legacy" momentarily then moves to the new page. So the only way I can (briefly) display "Legacy" is by moving away from the Library page.
avatar
adaliabooks: Interesting... does that only happen for 100? Or for larger settings too?
Are there any errors accompanying this? Does it only happen with Legacy (do the other styles work)?

What if you change pages or sort order? Does that make the Legacy display work?
I opened the library again. For some reason, 100 worked now.
Changed to 200. Got the attached image.
Changed sort order. Order changed, but display remained broken.
Then Firefox froze and had to kill it.

Can you try with the console open and see if any errors come up?

It's odd, because I can duplicate the list of games 20 times (so I have 2000 games showing) and it takes a minute to load but then works fine, even on Legacy.
Admittedly it's duplicating the data 20 times rather than showing 2000 individual items but I can't see that that would make too much of a difference...
That's the best I can do to test larger numbers of games right now and it seems to be alright... :/

That looks like the wonky page you get if you change to list mode with all the legacy / remix settings (which shouldn't happen as I check for list mode and load the default gog settings)

This is a very bizarre selection of errors this time round...

It is not showing any errors.
And it is really strange, the legacy library was working well before, but now Firefox even freezes when going to the second page of my library (with the normal 100 games setting).

OK, changed sorting to "Title", and set to "100" - Library loaded (shelf and box art), got a good look at the first page, went to the second one, got a good look at it too, but couldn't scroll back up again or go to the third, Firefox froze, or more correctly, that tab froze, as I managed to close it without killing the browser, but Firefox took a good while before getting responsive again.

I don't know if it's just me, but Firefox hogs really hard on my CPU when I load my Library with this new version.

Do you want me to try it again (or something different) with the console open?

And yet foxworks could load his 1224 game library all at once with no problem...
What version is showing? I presume the update did work... :/

foxworks: Setting to "all" for every mode (legacy, default, remix, etc) doesn't crash for me. However, I did lose all my legacy shelf images. Library 1224.
What browser are you on foxworks?

Nah, don't worry.

It definitely seems to be a memory issue, but I can't see why. It's working absolutely fine for me in Firefox, and Chrome is a notorious memory hog and I have 9 tabs open and it works and loads fine, even with the games duplicated multiple times...

What OS are you guys all on? And what's your RAM like? I can't see it being that severe an issue, but who knows...

It shows 1.2.4 when I open the menu.

Since I am not at home, I am at the moment on Win8 64bit computer. 16GB RAM.

Well... unless it's something to do with Windows 8 (highly doubtful) I can't see you struggling with that.

Sometimes I really wish I could actually see your computers... XD

There's a big difference.

For you, the browser has to load and keep in memory ~100 images and point 20 times to those. People with ~1,000 games require 10 times the resources you do.

Win 7 64, 16GB memory, Firefox.

Yeah, but if you can load the games in non - legacy view (or even just the old style library before the account changes) then I can't see it just being the images alone causing the problem... unless it's because I use the larger images rather than the shrunken ones gog did...
If it's the script actually retrieving the images that's the same for everyone, and the script getting the particular image for each game runs for each instance of a game (so would run 2000 times in my example too) so those should be causing me an issue too...

What browser would you expect a working fox to use? ;-P

He did indeed, but don't forget that he got no legacy box art.

Hmmm.... wonder what would happen if I blocked your site.

I've got a Win XP (32bit) with 2GB RAM desktop, and a Win7 (64bit) 4GB RAM laptop. Same behaviour on both.

Sorry... I wasn't actually saying Chrome was better in this case (though it totally is :P) but just that I wouldn't have thought the memory thing would be such a huge problem.

About the same as me with the laptop, so that shouldn't be an issue.

It would just be much easier to diagnose things and figure out the issues if I could see them myself, describing the issues over the internet is far from ideal.
