MaximumBunny: The meta is determined by the developers. Obviously they don't want a slow paced game. Given Activision is involved, they want to cater to the "we want results now" crowd. That's why Heroes of the Storm has no depth at all.
Crosmando: The gameplay/engine of SC2 itself is fantastic, the best pathfinding of any RTS game ever, but when every single game is about cannon rushing or killing workers with zerglings/reapers/adepts it stops being fun, the best matches are drawn-out affairs with massive battles but these are becoming very rare. Thankfully though there's tonnes of great fan-made maps on the Arcade.
Maps where the bases are behind large and long walls?
Breja: I don't even know what Major League Gaming is. I assume it has something to do with e-sport, pro-gaming or whatever. I don't care. I don't care about any sort of sport, so why should I care about this?
Of course the GOG community would not care about the E-Sports scene. (And I love EVO to death which thankfully is not part of the MLG)
At worst I think the problem with Activision buying this is the shoehorn more of its games in the spotlight while established game like DOTA 2 and others will be pushed to the side.
Essentially MLG is now just going to be one big adverstisment for Activision Blizzard games so expact more Call of Duty related content.
