If you’ve been hanging around for a while, especially in the <a href=”"http://www.gog.com/games">games tab</a>, you may have noticed that the growing number of items on our virtual shelf was inching closer and closer to our very first thousand - lo and behold, just this week we made it through our first 1k.

We could start off by thanking the Academy, our moms, and hoping for world peace - and it's not that we don't want to say all those things, but before we do, we want to thank the most important people that made it possible - all of YOU. It may sound a bit turgid and you might not believe that we're tearing up a little as we click "publish" on this piece of news, but you guys are the ones that make GOG.com what it is and our reason to continue bringing you more great games.

Before we break out the fruit punch, though, we want to honor those of you who almost caught up with us. We dug through our records and picked fifty users that have the most boxes on their own virtual shelves.

Let's all give an alphabetically ordered round of applause to:

Antarian, astrugar710, atomsword, AutumnYears, baketomato, Barry_Woodward, benjam47, budejovice, CuriousTwoAtGOG, Darthmort, Disciple_of_Doom, djr155, DonCorleon, Gersen, gorrrrrr, Heirgeir, howardtduck2005, ilcollezionista, jabba1971, JDelekto, KajQrd, kiwy, Kodijack, kotokimura, Lafazar, liquidBass, lobo_1, Loenas, maweball, mrkgnao, MTR77, Murfallo, mwmwm, n0nam3, OlK76, onthemike, palyea, Pantoprazol, sbaylus, Serpico, ShadowWulfe, Silvanus2004, soulroar, tippete, TrevWar, turbond, vasyl, VuA, xckx, and ZombieGum.

We will be contacting these guys personally for T-shirt sizes and mailing addresses for a little, personalized thank-you. We are off to celebrate - but before we go, here's to another thousand digital boxes on the GOG.com shelf!
Oh yeah, I noticed the 1K games milestone this morning while browsing the store. Congrats to GOG folks even if a lot of cheating (aka unbundling) was involved to reach that number quicker ;)
Congratulations to GOG on reaching 1000. Here's to the next 1000!

Dzsono: Lol! Although maybe such a request isn't as unlikely as you think ;)
Hey, they only tested that on rats! :)
Congrats, guys! :D

To be honest, I don't think the un-bundling was cheating necessarily. There were several Sierra games (for example) that I purchased individually in the past that they re-sold as a bundle on CD-ROM much later as a "collection"; however, they were still individual games I purchased at the time.

I don't really count a "collection" as one game, but more so an attempt to entice others who haven't played those games to feel like they were getting more for their hard-earned currency and "catching up" with others who had played previous games.
high rated
Impaler would be on that list but for that fact that he already has 985 of the 1000 on Steam.
Congrats to GOG on 1K games and big thanks to the whole team and this wonderful community, so glad to be part of it. Now let's go play some games! :p
Congrats GOG

I think all those at 900+ on the shelf be given Divinity: Original Sin

LOL - Ok I am at 960 and that game still eludes me - so maybe you have guessed I was being selfish there

I actually think its been a blast and I am so happy to be part of the growing community

Well Done all
Are DLCs counted in the 1000 games ?

There has been no cheating from GOG's part, as the unbundling didn't affect the number of offered items in the catalog. Mortal Kombat 1+2+3, for instance, still counts as one item in the catalog, even though it takes 3 boxes in the account.
Congrats GOG for the major milestone. I've been anticipating and trying to predict approximately when it might happen and I figured it would be this year for some time now, but probably toward the end of the year. In the last year's time though whether it is real or just my own perception it seems that the number of games incoming per week has increased quite a bit over time so things appear to have accelerated and that's certainly fine by me. I like to see GOG succeed both for boosting DRM-free gaming, and as a profitable business model.

Congrats also to all the gamers in the top 50. I'm rather blown away that that many people seem to have more or less the entire game catalogue or close too it to the point where some people with over 900 games were _not_ in the top 50. Wow!

I've got 335 bundled games that amount to 402 unbundled titles now on my shelf including the Galaxy client, which is approx 1/3 of the catalogue. There are about another 150 titles on my wishlist, but it blows my mind that some people have almost the entire catalogue. Not in a "why????" sense, because I can think of a number of viable reasons for someone to do that, but it is still impressive whether one does it because they can afford to and they want to vote with their wallet for DRM-free gaming and support GOG for doing this and feel they are in a position they can do that, or whether they are just collectors that can afford it and derive pleasure collecting or even those who might have a disorder about it. Either way - wow! :)

It would be nice if GOG would set up some kind of swag store on the website or through a partnership and put up some official swag merchandise including official T-shirts, mugs, mouse pads and all the other standard stuff. I'd definitely love to get a GOG.com T-shirt and perhaps a CDPR one too, Witcher stuff etc. and I know tonnes of others would too. Hopefully that might be in the future. :)

Anyhow, cheers for 1000, and I'm looking forward to the next 1000 and at least 100 of those being more Lucasarts games! ;oP

Yes.

I have some games on Steam which I cannot get on GOG and I'm going to live with that instead of blowing off steam.

I still play some Steam games, but not very often and I won't be purchasing many in the future with the many I have to choose from now.

XD Steam is fine; that wasn't the point of the joke. :P
I'm surprised Iamsinistar is not on the list. I thought he had the largest collection.
