If you’ve been hanging around for a while, especially in the <a href=”"http://www.gog.com/games">games tab</a>, you may have noticed that the growing number of items on our virtual shelf was inching closer and closer to our very first thousand - lo and behold, just this week we made it through our first 1k.

We could start off by thanking the Academy, our moms, and hoping for world peace - and it's not that we don't want to say all those things, but before we do, we want to thank the most important people that made it possible - all of YOU. It may sound a bit turgid and you might not believe that we're tearing up a little as we click "publish" on this piece of news, but you guys are the ones that make GOG.com what it is and our reason to continue bringing you more great games.

Before we break out the fruit punch, though, we want to honor those of you who almost caught up with us. We dug through our records and picked fifty users that have the most boxes on their own virtual shelves.

Let's all give an alphabetically ordered round of applause to:

Antarian, astrugar710, atomsword, AutumnYears, baketomato, Barry_Woodward, benjam47, budejovice, CuriousTwoAtGOG, Darthmort, Disciple_of_Doom, djr155, DonCorleon, Gersen, gorrrrrr, Heirgeir, howardtduck2005, ilcollezionista, jabba1971, JDelekto, KajQrd, kiwy, Kodijack, kotokimura, Lafazar, liquidBass, lobo_1, Loenas, maweball, mrkgnao, MTR77, Murfallo, mwmwm, n0nam3, OlK76, onthemike, palyea, Pantoprazol, sbaylus, Serpico, ShadowWulfe, Silvanus2004, soulroar, tippete, TrevWar, turbond, vasyl, VuA, xckx, and ZombieGum.

We will be contacting these guys personally for T-shirt sizes and mailing addresses for a little, personalized thank-you. We are off to celebrate - but before we go, here's to another thousand digital boxes on the GOG.com shelf!

Cyraxpt: Oh, this celebration requires the usual posts...

a) WHERE'S MAH FREE GAME!!!

b) 1000 GAMES BECAUSE YOU PUT INDIE GARBAGE GAMES!!!!1!!

c) COOL, NOW GIVE STEAM KEYS FOR THOSE 1k GAMES!!!!
You're not random, so hugo360pt can't give you the code. He has less than 24 hours to find a person to which he can give a code, else it is forfeit and I give it away on a Twitch stream.

vanchann: Congratulations GOG! I wish you to reach the next K soon!

Since this is an unusual announcement on Saturday, I wonder what the upcoming week will bring!!!
Most likely another Monday. :(

Definitely another Monday.
But some weeks on GOG are special! And it doesn't need to start on Monday! ;-)

Good to hear that, and I know that for sure! :)

A common misconception is that people may work nights/days, but they may 'shift' their work week which overlaps weekends!

I have a code for Witcher 3 to give away, but it has to be at random by another poster here. If they cannot comply with the rules, I will forfeit after 24 hours and put the code up for takers on GOG's twitch stream.

Yeah, that i get it, i don't know is why you quoted me or assumed that i wanted your gift when i didn't say anything in that regard.

call it being in the right place at the 'wrong' time. :)

catpower1980: Cool down, I'm just teasing a little bit ;) BTW, how come then that user library count increased and not the catalog count? Or maybe I buy games when I'm in an altered state and don't remember it :o)
avatar
Grargar: I'm cool. :) I'm only explaining that the number of games on offer wasn't affected by the unbundling. As for why one increased and not the other? Well, there are no individual store pages for the unbundled games.
Yeah, after getting a shot of caffeine, it clicked into my mind :o)

Anyway, what would interest me rather than a pure milestone, would be some data and infographics on the evolution of games released per year/semester/quarter. Maybe a custom script based on MaGOG could do the job...

JMich's list is a good start. It doesn't show up DLCs or premium editions, though.

Listen, you're a nice guy and it's great that you're offering a game like TW3 to someone (and perhaps i'm making a storm in a teacup) but i don't like it when people assume that i want something from them, i didn't ask for your gift nor i showed any interest in it (i can't even run TW2 decently on my laptop so i can imagine how terrible TW3 would be).
