Well, presumably someone did something to break the Account button. That's how we usually know the web team is working, because the site breaks in some way. Occasionally, after years of complaints about something they broke once, they even fix it again. But that is the exception to the rule ;-)

Wasn't the firefox update that caused this? If that was the case, the web team is still MIA.

But back to serious matter, what are you guys seeing in your browser? I see people mentioning it as "blank" but there's a message there on mine.

Given that I'm having the same problem in Chrome, no it wasn't.

The tab is back, at least for me, now.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

For me it disappears when I go to the community.
Returning to frontpage restores it.

I bet somebody stole it. You didn't park your browser in a bad part of town, did you?

Please don't fix the broken avatars, GOG, I won't be able to recognize even half of the regulars should you fix it. It's definitely a solid feature, and a meaningful part of the forums traditions and heritage to boot.

It seems that one method of seeing a user's new avatar, that of mousing over the user's old avatar, is also broken at the moment; this, in turn, makes it difficult to start a conversation with an unfamiliar user, or to invite an user as a friend.
