te_lanus: I've attached one :D
Yeah, but sadly I don't think that'll help cover the hole too well. LOL :)

All you need to do is to print the picture and duct tape it to the hole

LOL, can't argue with that. :) I suppose in the coming years/decades we'll be able to send things over the Internet via 3D printer as well. :)

jsidhu762: Hello!

I just finished building my new PC and I'm very proud of myself. However, I accidentally opened a wrong expansion slot insert and I was wondering if that would be an issue. Are things like dust and insects a concern? I do plan on keeping the area tidy - would that be enough to keep my PC safe?

Thank you in advance for replying.
You should be proud! And if that's your only mistake during the build, even more so.

That being said, I've kept my PC case open on both sides for 3 years. No problems with it. Runs cool and quiet.

Don't believe the nerds on the internet (except me) overheating is never a problem except with overclockers and people still living in 1979, dust is not a problem if you clean every so often (e.g using an air-duster) and PC innards are quite durable.

I've done that quite a few times lol.

If you can't duct it... ;)

(I always use electrical tape. Seems like it's the perfect size!)
If you're worried about dust, the holes above are much to worry than the expansion slot.
As someone who has worked on PCs for years, don't worry about it. PCs are meant to have holes in them for airflow and cooling. One extra hole isn't going to make a huge difference as long as you dont keep the case in a really dusty environment...

Always, even if your PC is well closed enough. Open it once in a while to clean it.

It depends on you much dust and how many insects are in your house though.
