Now i need to log online, into a browser to view the forum.
Everything was so nice and clean before and now….. Now the first thing that i see is "what my friends played"instead of all the nice and shiny new deals!!!

Is this mandatory ? Can i revert to another version?? What is the point adding all that extra compatibility if you are an introvert... a loner …. a controlfreak??!!

Go to the cogwheel in the top-left and select Settings -> General and change the Starting Page to Store and you'll never have to see that page again.

It looks like GOG has rolled out forced update to 2.0 and we're gonna see more of these kind of posts...
after the initial shock i have to say that it is oke… combining all your platforms is quite fun.. never realized i had a total of around 531 games.. which is already to much

now if they would implement the forum feature again as before we are good to go !

Ah, this is about Galaxy.

Why is it so hard for people to start threads with a minimum of explanation as to what they are even on about?

You really don't think "Aarg what's this... " is self explanatory? ;)

Regarding the question of the missing forum. It is still possible to access the forum by acessing any game page and click on the forum link. In earlier versions of Galaxy it was even possible to use the bookmark function and add this as a shortcut to Galaxy under the store section. I did this myself. Unfortunately it seems as if the recent version does neuther let you add nor even remove this bookmark now anymore (I tried to remove it for testing issues and it chosing to delete the bookmar simply does nothing).

Just wait till you amass alot of games. I added all of mine from Steam, Origin, etc a while back. I had to remove them as it was over 1,000 and Galaxy took ages to load and alot of the time errored out. So I only let it see certain GOG games now.

You might want to try this again sometime. The import process has been improved quite a lot over the several Galaxy updates. Might still not be fast enough for you (don't have 1000+ Steam games myself so I cannot test - it works with about 1500 owned games for me) but maybe worth a try.

yea i noticed the same though 500 games have no visible effect, there are 157 installed and if i apply filters or use the recently played tab it is doable. Though on steam i have all my games nicely ordered by tag which works a lot better, i guess i still will be using steam and the others to decide how and what to play or just use the icons i have on my desktop

edit: with i noticed the same i meant i noticed the same during the connection period, with all the games loaded there is no visible effect

Just gave galaxy another boot and it runs just as fast, there is just a minor slowback when it determines how many games are installed…

maybe it is M.2 drive power? ( and 32 gb's of DDR4 ram on a xmp profile? )

You could do the same you did on Steam. Import your Steam tags and then select group by tags for Steam in Galaxy.
My Galaxy client hasn't been forcefully upgraded till now.

HaHaa! I guess :P
