Funny how my rep has actually gone up some points. :)

Breja: You have an uncanny nack for being annoying. I don't know if you're doing it on purpose, but it's like you're trying to be an avatar for everything that's annoying people about "gender issues" (or whatever you want to call it). We could make a drinking game out of your "don't call me Shirley" posts, and I seriously don't think it's possible to start a thread you couldn't bring gender issues into at the flimsiest excuse.

And here's the crux of it- I'm not saying all this to insult you, and I'm not taking any sides in any gender debate you might like to have. I'm saying it in a desperate hope that you might actually realise how touchy, tedious and needlessly disruptive you are, and try to change before people stop being mildly annoyed by you, and start really hating you.
I've noticed that you and I are rarely in agreement when it comes to discussions on these boards about movies, books, or other entertainment. But in this matter...

GOGfist, yo.

I don't like being called that either. Sorry!

I should point out that you will eventually run out of words to use, while I can just keep posting to the effect of "please don't call me $foo".

Oh, you'd think so mate. But there are a lot of languages αντράκι μου.

dtgreene: It is enough to exclude me, therefore it is exclusionary.

You should pick a different term that implies solidarity and is not gendered.

Don't bother. I've told him this time and time again, and so have countless others. You're wasting your time, he can't be reasoned with. I've learned the hard way to just ignore him when he does this as it's better for everybody.

I don't understand the aggression - I was just being playful.

sunshinecorp: Nothing is exclusionary. You're making things exclusionary by saying they are. You just want to have yet another argument about gender. And I'm falling for it. *sigh* I want a term like brofist because it implies solidarity. Not gender. But go on, stay angry at the world for using "male dominant" words. See if I care. :P

Ugh, dude, enough already. I use all those terms (dude, man) for anyone daily. They are well established as gender neutral. anyone who says, "dudette" should get brofisted. Also, i'm a girl. chill out. it's people like you that give feminists a bad name.

Edit: Did....did I just see dtgreene's rep suddenly rise by 3? Like, I just refreshed the page. Could've sworn it was at 80 just a minute ago. That's...weird.

Hugs? I think you're looking for the conversational free-for-all thread.
