Here's a hint: "in-game logic" is the same as "in-movie logic", that's to say - not logical at all.

You just have to go with the story, forego all doubts amd simply enjoy, what's offered, without giving it all too much thought.

If you say so. I guess I was just a bit frustrated at how already perfect the game is, especially how daring the ending of the game is, yet left one crucial part of the story vaguely explained. Moreso at the fact that this game isn't as popular (please correct me if I'm wrong) as the other Prince of Persia games, making it hard to find other people discussing the part of the game's story that confuses me until now (I still haven't found an answer to the question online). It's like aren't you guys gonna question that part of the game? You're just gonna accept it as it is?

But thank you for your answer tho, since I was planning on bumping this thread soon if I didn't get a response from anyone.

I for one didn't accept it at all. I hated the ending so much, I just refused to go through with it. I chose my "good ending" and quit the game without resurrecting Elika. Finding out that all the mess happened because she got resurrected once and putting things right, the thing she fought for the whole time, means letting her die? Great ending. Finding all that out and then choosing to undo everything we've done? Fronk that.

Same here. The ending destroyed the whole game for me. It goes against everything that Elika and the protagonist fought for, and goes against everything she wants. It portrais the protagonist as weak and selfish and foolish.

For this game, the quote from WarGames is true: "The only winning move is not to play!"

Did you choose the "good ending" on your first playthrough? For me the problem with the ending of the game is how the game didn't really present it as a choice, I mean when I first played it I thought I just had to keep going even after the credits had already first rolled the moment the giant door connecting the Tree of Life chamber to the long corridor leading to outside the temple opened. Even right after I had cut down the four trees of the fertile grounds and now I'm back before the Tree of Life, I was still looking around the room to see if there was anything I could've done other than striking down the Tree of Life cause everyone knows that doing so would release Ahriman back to the world, which turned out to be none.

I guess I would've just much preferred if the game had just presented to you two different choices that are clickable or pressable if you get me, like choosing a dialog option. The current state of the way the ending is handled feels like the game just wants us to get that true ending.

First and only. Never felt like replaying it after that. But if I ever do, I'll do the same thing. In a strange way, I liked that experience, of rebelling against the script, choosing my ending without it being a given option. Made it very memorable, in a totally unintended way. It was my "I want to speak to the writer" moment.
Ubisoft's last DRM-free game...

Prince of Persia (2008) is the game where you can download an Epilogue DLC for the console versions (Xbox 360 and PS3) but not for the PC version. The epilogue then reveals that the story will continue in the next game. However, this game hasn't been developed.
