lupineshadow: My point was, the title of the game was "Poppy Playtime". No mention of demo or prologue in the title at all.
If you scroll down you see paid Chapter 2 and Chapter 3.
So yes, it is a demo, or a F2P game with paid addons. But that distinction is not clear.
I had forgotten that, but yeah, it is kind of a demo if you're basically not buying the full game even if the title helps (earlier I also considered X:Y titmes as well that lack any other fancy title). That's another tactic at it, unless the other "chapters" are even lesser than the main game, so it depends if you're really gonna miss out on anything worthwile.
But it was obvious
it was not a giveaway, which was the point of confusion.@slickrcbd only mentioned the matter about it being a demo because that would also add to the problem because certain people keep including stuff like that. Either way, it was besides the point of being a giveaway because it wasn't marketed as one, and initially it's a free game itself (whether you consider it a demo or not), so that also wouldn't count as a giveaway.
lupineshadow: Crusader Kings 2 is a free game with paid addons. And "Chapter X" is often used by Paradox in their other games as a name for a bundle of DLCs.
I absolutely agree, that this game doesn't warrant mentioning in the giveaways thread, but it is not obvious at all, and any misleading going on is on the part of the game publishers.
CKII 's base game used to be a paid game, then they changed it, and DLCs still end up as microtransactions. A lot bigger than Poppy Playtime I don't think in that case that really even constitutes a demo either, since it's basically a sandbox and the multiple expansions are just enhancements. Mods can be added to it as well. It's not that different to, say, The Sims. More specifically Sims 4, since the same thing is happening.
