That's a bit subjective, of course... personally, my interest lies mainly in the 1998 - 2008 decade, or, secondarily, some years before or after (nostalgia plays its part in this, obviously). Yet, I can occasionally enjoy more modern games, especially small-scale "indies" (essentially because of hardware limitations and because I like simpler games anyway - you could say they're more suited to a "casual" gamer like me).

For me it turned a day of a long lockdown into a nice one for less than two hours. Pleasant, relaxing exploration with just the right amount of challenge to make you feel like you have helped the protagonist to achieve their aim.

Speaking of Anodyne 2, that game was recommended to me in another thread.

Is it worth playing the original Anodyne, which I already have from that huge itch,io bundle, before I consider Anodyne 2 (which, understandably, wasn't in that bundle)?

I have it too and I will play them in order because I generally do so.

Since it's free on Indiegala again, I'm still wondering whether the BorderZone version they offer is the latest, fully patched one or that 1.7 patch I found linked to on the Steam forums is required for it. Didn't download again now, but when I did grab it, I tried both the IG version on its own and with the patch applied, and the patch seemed more complete, including some music and texture files not in the IG version and that .pdb file that isn't in that one at all, but with no version listed in game, no idea.

Seems awfully buggy either way, but was reading that if you can somehow make it through the bugs and otherwise crap programming it could be interesting, so I grabbed it at one point and set it aside for some point in the future, maybe. But would want to know which version would be the... somewhat less messed up one.

I'm about buy a ps5, other than the demon souls remake what games should i get for it.

i'm an xbox guy but i wanted to play playstation exclusives so i decided to buy my first playstation mainly to play the final fantasy 7 remake

The most helpful thing would be a list of recommended games in the BigFish store.

They are kind of cool when they give often those 100% discount codes that can be used with any game, but when you try to use the code, there's really nothing that impressive there. And at least I don't have patience to check through hundreds of hidden object games, even though I occasionally like to play one or two. And other genres are some weird exceptions in their casual selection.

And what really makes it annoying is that even if I try to see only certain kind of games there, let's say I click the link that says "adventure", for some unexplainable reason the store lists all games anyway, so clicking any genre links is completely useless.

I have always been tempted by the playstation exclusives over xbox. I loved the last of us on the ps4. As a pc gamer, with game pass, it makes more sense to get an xbox series s/x.

Right! I was thinking about doing one as well. I would put there: games sold on GOG, games that are not the usual HOG, or the kind of casual solitaire nahjong or the like. There's something interesting in there but it's hard to find among many old almost same looking HOGs.

I'm quite excited for new players to play Dandara, I got it as a community freebie on Steam and there's a lot to love, the art and the movement mechanics are original, it's a nice metroidvania. The story is ok - a bit confused for the sake of being artsy maybe.

SP campaign is fun & good, IMHO.

Bought & played it quite a bit ago, way before the Epic Giveaway.

Loaded with variety of gameplay, despite not being super-long. Expect it to be 5-10 hours, or so.

I really liked Iden's arc; she's cool and is voiced by Janina Gavankar (from True Blood). Also ,you get to play as other important characters from the SW Universe - as their stories and sections overlap w/ Iden's.

Some of the iconic characters and their missions: they have different mechanics and/or gameplay types. Keeps the gameplay fun and fresh.

Just...you know, don't expect this to have the level of writing, narrative, dialogue, and whatnot as say a KOTOR 1+2.
