Big changes are here.

My Account is the heart of your GOG.com experience. It's the one place that's 100% yours, and the place you always go to download your games and manage the entire library.
Starting today, your My Account is completely new - remade and redesigned from scratch to better support our growing library of games and many of your biggest requests. Aside from every usability fix we could think of, we've also introduced brand new tools to keep your library organised, and new social features to stay in touch with your friends.

The list of new features is long, but you can see the whole thing on our forums. The most important highlights include:

--Support for friends lists and chat.
--Shared wishlists.
--Advanced filtering and custom tags for your library.
--A new, detailed order history.
--Accessible game changelogs.

We're sure that these new changes will greatly improve your overall user experience on GOG.com, and we can't wait to hear what you think on the wishlist and right here in the comments!

JudasIscariot: Actually, we do add to the changelog whether a goodie was added now that we have a changelog for this kind of thing. We recently added the unofficial 2.36b beat patch for Europa Universalis to the goodies section. It's in the changelog and this will occur for every game we add to so if you get a Linux-compatible version of a game, there will be a changelog entry with a date of when this entry was added.

HypersomniacLive: Is there any chance we could get a full list of which games got a changelog even for updates from before the new account system rolled out? Or did I misunderstand your post?
Errm you may have misunderstood my post, not sure.

All of the updates posted are ones added after the changelog feature rolled out :)

JudasIscariot: You should be able to just copy-paste it from your account :)
Will the changelog which is displayed in the game library be cumulative and preserve older changes or will it only contain the info from the last change (which would increase the need for a local backup significantly)?

It will be cumulative so you'll be able to scroll through changes as they get added in :)

I don't know if there is a character limit as I've managed to fit the ENTIRE changelog to Age of Wonders III version 1.555 in there and that is longer than the U.S. Constitution and the Magna Carta put together :)

Actually, as far as constitutions go, the US constitution is quite short. ;)

Why do you think I put "and the Magna Carta" in my previous reply? :P

Eheh. In case someone is interested in this kind of stuff (quoted from Wikipedia):

"The Constitution of India is the longest written constitution of any sovereign country in the world, containing 444 articles in 22 parts, 12 schedules and 118 amendments, with 117,369 words in its English-language translation, while the United States Constitution is the shortest written constitution, at 7 articles and 27 amendments, with 4,400 words."

Good! So we are safe at least for now. :)

The added changelog is the most appreciated feature of the new "My account" for me, but perhaps the only one. :/
Maybe some smart folks will integrate the download of the changelog into one of the downloaders. Of course it would be better when GOG itself would provide an easy way to download it.
EDIT: Seems to be working now

The filtering in the account section does not work. I have 2 updates flagged but cannot find them because when I try to filter for updates, there is nothing.

I did find Quest for Infamy with some blue icon that is hard to see. Sorry but at the moment this is even worse than before, previously the filtering didn't work on list view, but at least the update flag was read and visible.

Try to refresh the library page, the update filter did only activate on a second try for me.

Yeah, thanks for that, it is working now.
By the way, I hope someone notices that the new account fixed the product_bonus_xxxxx issue :P
I definitely like that there is a changelog, but it would be nice if there was somewhere in my account where I can just see a list of everything that has updated for all my games in chronological order. That way I won't miss updates.

LoboBlanco: This is just an aesthetic thing really. I think there was quite an improvement with all the new welcomed features, some of which were old wishlisted items but on the other hand I liked the old look (not talking about features here) of the wishlist and the library. They had maybe more personality with the paper wishlist and the game boxes on the shelf.
I guess the new design matches the rest of the UI of the site better, though the old one matched the feel of the site better in my opinion.

The new functionality and capabilities are welcomed though.

Djaron: sorry, sir, but some of the issues described here are not just on the "aesthetic" department, they are clearly in the daily usability topic (such as bottom control of pagination, types of sorting without game release, the fact that you only have the browser's back button sometimes to help you and having to restart, settings not saved from one session to another)

if you put that in the "aesthetic" thing, i can assure you that once you go past a given number or entries in your library, it becomes hindrance...
Sorry sir but I was talking about my own post and not those of other people inputs.
I have a message in my account 'library' but can't see any update or anything.

please bring back the old game shelf.

I see now, I have one update. games 139 updates 1, hmm I did have 140 games

it will take time to get used to this new website.

Did you have the Galaxy beta client on your shelf which maybe has been dropped?

It has been dropped from my shelf too and confused me by decreasing my game count by one. Not sure why it has been dropped though.
