Big changes are here.

My Account is the heart of your GOG.com experience. It's the one place that's 100% yours, and the place you always go to download your games and manage the entire library.
Starting today, your My Account is completely new - remade and redesigned from scratch to better support our growing library of games and many of your biggest requests. Aside from every usability fix we could think of, we've also introduced brand new tools to keep your library organised, and new social features to stay in touch with your friends.

The list of new features is long, but you can see the whole thing on our forums. The most important highlights include:

--Support for friends lists and chat.
--Shared wishlists.
--Advanced filtering and custom tags for your library.
--A new, detailed order history.
--Accessible game changelogs.

We're sure that these new changes will greatly improve your overall user experience on GOG.com, and we can't wait to hear what you think on the wishlist and right here in the comments!

HypersomniacLive: TAGS: Don't quite follow the logic of the order, but let's put that aside for a moment:
- Impossible to rearrange it.
Actually, this one you can. Go to Settings -> Tags and there's a simbol (8 dots in a grid) next to the down arrow when you hover the mouse over the tag, it's a handle to drag it up or down the list.

(I assume this is what you meant with rearrange it)

Grargar: Are you sure that there is no changelog for Black Mirror? Judas said that there should be one. Also, if a game gets updated, there should be a mention next to the "My Collection" button that says (X Games, X Updated). You can click it to filter your shelf between full collection, updated games, or hidden games.
You're not reading carefully, kitty. Did I say that Black Mirror, The doesn't have a changelog?
I wondered how one's supposed to know what content of a game got an update in cases where there's no changelog (according to Chamb it shouldn't be expected for all games, just the more popular and newer ones), since this tiny blue dot is placed on the game card in Grid View and next to the game title in List View.

As for the drop-down menu next to "My Collection" - I saw that, but that still doesn't answer my question, does it?

HypersomniacLive: Fine, just call it by its name, and drop this hyping PR talk how it's done to improve our user experience and we all should be excited and rejoicing about it.
Cutting the sometimes just condescending attempts at PR spins is something they really don't seem to be willing to learn... (-_-)'

Actually, that's bugged. The tags I had today I already cleared so I can't post a screenshot, but there's two bugs:
1) Even when you do have updated games, the number next to "Updated" is always 0;
2) When you click on "Updated" to filter them, on top you get "Updated ()" instead of "Updated (X)"

Also, since this seems to be the oficial feedback thread, I leave a link to the post with the wall of feedback I left in the other thread yesterday, which probably went unnoticed: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/my_account_big_changes_on_the_horizon/post452

Anyway, if the main goal is to make the library looks LIKe the store, well, let us have at least some clear advantage about that, by being able to tag yet unpurchased games from the store itself (not from "our librairy" obviously) to mark some of them as "already owned on other (DRM free) gaming platforms"

If there is no way (aside small wooden slate) for me to distinguish my library from store, and YOU decide the way i can see MY library from MY account, at least let me "manage" the way i can view the store from MY account too :)

HypersomniacLive: The first one is useless because your sense of alphabetising is seriously screwed up, and does not actually take into account game series and their chronological order.
This one, at least, is supposedly on the 'coming soon' list:

-- COMING SOON: Improved searching. Soon, finding desired titles will be easier thanks to the search improvements that we'll be implementing on the new My Account. Also, as part of the solution, we will be changing the way that titles from a series are ordered (i.e. Broken Sword should always show up before Broken Sword 2).

From the OP in This Thread.

eiii: As much as I appreciate that GOG finally wants to provide changelogs for the games the ratio still could be improved. 3 updates today (Black Mirror, Eador and Terminal Velocity), but only one of them has a changelog entry (Black Mirror).

Come on folks, it isn't that hard to add a short comment to a file when you change something. ;)

JudasIscariot: All three games have a "Changelog", check them :)
Hi Judas!

I like the new account page for the most part, but there are a few glaring problems:

1) Where did my gift codes go? This is seriously irritating. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I need that page back.
2) There's still no indication on the game page that going to the forum will get people a changelog, and the changelog itself isn't done well (it should all be in one thread - the whole point of changelogs is to long changes chronologically, and separate threads are insufficient).
3) The game popup window is huge. Way, way too big. Also, it doesn't resize depending on the amount of content. Even on a desktop it's a nuisance.

Besides these usability issues it looks great to me. I especially like the new tags, they're pretty useful.

Will the tags be available in the Galaxy client in a format other programs can understand? I'm interested in integration with currently existing downloaders and other service-agnostic clients.

I know what Chamb said. I also know that old games that I shouldn't normally expect updates (Secret Agent and Terminal Velocity), did get a changelog to indicate the additions of a Linux version. What I interpreted Chamb's message as, was that a game won't have a changelog by default, until an update for it gets released. Also, since you can filter your shelf to show ony the updated games, does it really matter if they have a tiny blue dot or not? Just select the game in question, check the changelog and you should know what has been updated. Now, if they release an update without a changelog, then yes, that will be bad.

I didn't even think about them until I read this. Yeah, where are they? :O

Edit: Okay, answered directly before this post. They're there, it's just less comfortable to check on them. Got it...

cal74: While I agree with you that a lot of work remains to be done to have a fully updated interface and that they should improve the communication on this matter, do you really think it'll change the reaction of the people complaining.
Perhaps when you do it in a proper way?

If you change your system and remove a feature without any forewarning, which a lot of people had used, are you surprised when people complain? Really?
If GOG would have thought a bit ahead they at least would have given people a warning together with the unbundling that manual sorting of the library will not be supported in the future (and would have fixed the automatic sorting before). So people at least would not have to put work on resorting their library after the unbundling.

If you change your system and know that the import of the old data is not ready yet and a roll out will interrupt the communication of a lot of people do you roll out that change? Really?
No, you do not if you have any respect for your customers.

Seriously ... the general lack of thinking ahead, of planning and coordination, of quality control and testing on GOG is just frustrating.

It's a bit hidden: Account -> Orders & Settings -> Orders history -> Unredeemed Gifts.

Not my experience. When I did have 2 updates today for the additions of the Linux version for Secret Agent and Terminal Velocity, it still showed 2.

Can't really remember. Will have to look at it next time.

Yeah, But i fail to see the reason the have to sort them manually O_O

By default ; it's not even by alphabetical order ....
Why is community an option under the store tab? Shouldn't it be its own tab?
