Starting today, your My Account is completely new - remade and redesigned from scratch to better support our growing library of games and many of your biggest requests. Aside from every usability fix we could think of, we've also introduced brand new tools to keep your library organised, and new social features to stay in touch with your friends.

The list of new features is long, but you can see the whole thing on our forums. The most important highlights include:

--Support for friends lists and chat.
--Shared wishlists.
--Advanced filtering and custom tags for your library.
--A new, detailed order history.
--Accessible game changelogs.

We're sure that these new changes will greatly improve your overall user experience on GOG.com, and we can't wait to hear what you think on the wishlist and right here in the comments!

xwormwood: I would like to get back the old bookshelf design, and with this please the ENDLESS list instead of now 6 pages to click through when i want to scroll through my collection.

Would be great if you coud offer a solution for both requests.
At least ask the user about how many entries he wants to see on each page (just like Ebay does, where you can go up to 200 entries for one list.
one tédious thing is that the links to browse through the X out of Y pages of the library is always at the bottom of it... if you used one of the two only defautl sorting type (by purchase date, and by title) notice that it is always in the same way: descending order (from the latest purchase, or from the start of the alphabet, towards the opposit side...)

problem is, if you are looking for a game you purchased in the middle, or a middle alphabet letter... well, you'll have to load each other pages, scroll downwards to the bottom, and click on "next"

WHY on gods sake, why did no one ever think about also putting redundant next/previous page links at the top of the list ?
Overall, I like or don't mind the changes. There are a few minor things I dislike.

1. Wouldn't mind having sorting back. The alphabetical system has games within a series out of series order. Some of the series I bought are ones I did not but and play when they first came out so I have no nostalgia to help me recall which game to play first. I have a lot of rpgs and pont-and-click adventure games that i now have no idea what order they belong in.

2. The email no longer shows by the orders i have gifted. I usually chat with friends and family on places like facebook or reddit etc. I don't use their email often. The only email I happen to converse with often is my fiance's account. Before i would just cut and past the account from old orders when making a new gift purchase. So, now I have to go through the hassle of asking my friends and family what their email is when I want to send them something. I am hoping that by adding someone as a friend I can select them during the gifting process. If not, gifting is going to be a huge pain and not involve a lot of surprise.

3. I miss being able to click on the title of a game in my library and go to it's sell page. I have bought a lot of games on sale or in bundles. I have also been gifted games or received them free from gogcom. I don't actually recall what every game I purchased is about or even the genre is. I liked being able to click on the title and go to the sale page because I could then see what it was about. Just now I was like "Teen agent? Isn't that one of the free games? What is that about?" I had to go to the sale page manually to be reminded of what it was instead of just clicking on the title in my library. Why was that a feature that was even removed? If i want to gift something I can't click on it in my library I have to go to the sale page manually? Why add the extra steps to gifting? Please tell me this is just an oversight/glitch and not something that was intentionally removed.

I know that this are small issues, but sometimes it's the small annoyances that can become like nails on a chalk board.

LADAYA: I just hate the new library, it's too huge. :/ I hate a lot of new websites making everything larger than it needs to be... I wanna see more on my screen, not less.

Those annoying smartphone / tablet websites...

I like when websites are offering 2 versions of their website, computer screen, and for smartphone/tablet. But I will get used to it.

I used the "list" view. I clicked on game, and all the stuff appeared next to the list, with icons next to it too.
Now the goodies doesn't even have those icons too, makes it less arranged to me. And yes, too big.
Now you click on game, and it opens another huge window.

Too much clicking.
Just make everything appear on the same screen, like before...

I'm pretty sure computer screens are priority here... No smartphones/tablets... It's not like you are selling phone games. We are playing on our computers. I understand why the store is phone friendly, you can buy games over your phone. But why make the library phone friendly? Seriously, I hate the new website designs, even one website I was using. Before, the whole website did fit on my screen, like 3/4. Now I have to scroll 10 times more ...because of their phone design. Not good, too much space wasted.
]

I agree particularly with the things that take too much space. (i.e. game shelf and game cards) How about you at least shrink the size of the grey boxes with the game title. So far, every game I have checked only takes half of the height of the box. Make it smaller please.

As for the game card. To me, it's not just huge. It ridiculously huge! Most game cards barely fit on screen, and I've already noticed several (for games with lots of goodies) that are bigger than the screen, and I have to scroll to see the whole thing. The game card definitely needs to shrink.

I also can't stand having my game shelf on multiple pages. Give me an option for one. Also, for the list view. I would prefer it if you had the game card appear on the right like it used to instead of the drop down like grid view.

As for the rest, I'll give it some time to see what I think.

You can still access the game's store page. When you hover over the game's icon in your library, an arrow shows up in the bottom right corner. Click on the arrow; store page and reviews is one of the options listed.
GOG is wasting so much space just like they did on the game pages. Please get rid of this stupid dropdown menu, stop hiding useful features.
I had a few updated games post. I viewed the changelog on one just fine, but then when I went to view the changelog on the next one nothing happened. I tried the third and couldn't get the changelog to come up on it either. So, I decided to go back to the first game and try its changelog again and this time it wouldn't work either.

I refreshed the account page to see if that would fix it, but even though the "3 updated" tag was still listed, the filter wouldn't bring them up anymore. I guess since they were viewed. Now I have to remember which games they were in order to try and view the changelog again. Perhaps GOG should consider making turning the updated flag off a manual act, a checkbox or something, instead of automatically when you view the game.

new shelf ? fuck you.
Well, to reduce my amount of whiny posts...
Today I received a notification.
It was a game update.
I clicked on the game.
There was a changelog there.
I looked at the changelog, and all the information was there.
It was a thing of beauty.

Of course, I got the 500 error three times while trying to get to this page and make this post.
Still, for a moment, I was at peace...

well, that sure is a lot less intuitive. I hadn't even realized that there was a menu if I hovered as I hadn't seen a reason to hover of the game's picture yet. Was there a reason it needed to be more complicated than a one click process? My point remains that it is now a less obvious/more clicks required process than it was before/is necessary. Basically I have to now search for a useful feature that has been hidden as opposed to just doing what I would do on any other website.

Edit: Also, I just realized that on unbundled games the drop down menu does not go to the store page. Case in point: my Blackwell games don't like to the sell page. I bought it as a Blackwell Bundle plus the last game. So, I can't get to the bundle page or to any page selling the game from my library. I have to go and do a manual search in the store. That is just amazing.

Best bit of poetry ever :) It warmed our webdevs' hearts :)
I have a modest Library so I can only imagine what a nightmare this is for people with sevreral hundreds of purchases.

Just from my POV, I fail to see the point of a Completed tag without the possibility of manually arranging the titles in the order you completed them. Same goes for Next to play, unless you keep the list short and put a couple dozen games there so you are able to look at the thing. Oh, and I didn't see an Untagged filter? You know, to just show the games you haven't tagged yet.

These have probably been mentioned already and added to the wishlist but menotbotheringtoreadthroughthewholething thought it would post them anyway.

If I'm being totally honest, removing manual sorting and the ability to view all games on one page actually pisses me off much more than regional pricing.
At least with the regional pricing I could understand the reasons and see the potential benefits, but this just really pisses me off.
A quick question here, and sorry I realize it's probably been asked: is there a way to filter the games just to see new updates?

Yup. Assuming there any updates, of course.
