Big changes are here.

My Account is the heart of your GOG.com experience. It's the one place that's 100% yours, and the place you always go to download your games and manage the entire library.
Starting today, your My Account is completely new - remade and redesigned from scratch to better support our growing library of games and many of your biggest requests. Aside from every usability fix we could think of, we've also introduced brand new tools to keep your library organised, and new social features to stay in touch with your friends.

The list of new features is long, but you can see the whole thing on our forums. The most important highlights include:

--Support for friends lists and chat.
--Shared wishlists.
--Advanced filtering and custom tags for your library.
--A new, detailed order history.
--Accessible game changelogs.

We're sure that these new changes will greatly improve your overall user experience on GOG.com, and we can't wait to hear what you think on the wishlist and right here in the comments!
Kind of lifeless compared to the shelves. Hate the "chat" system that has replaced the PMs; love being able to tag games. *Lots* of games out of order, in spite of Chamb's claim that games from the same series will appear in series order, and no way to fix it without manual sorting; I've sent a report with a partial list, so we'll see if that gets fixed. Overall, better than I expected.

Don't care about sorting but would like the old shelf look backl or an option for it.

Then they must have done quite a bit of accidental clicking... ;-)

Why? Did he also send you a friend request?

What do you think? :-)

On a more serious note - they did when the Galaxy Beta went live.
Ehhhh... is there any way to make the games on the shelf look like boxes again? :(

While this new setup is probably more functional for library management, I think making games look like the store catalog damages their collectability. Admiring the full box art of a well arranged collection provided me a great deal of satisfaction. Now I just want to set everything to 'list' mode, do my business, and be gone.
The old Shelf look was somewhat.. less "just another digital game list"... really loved it. I would love to switch back to the shelf look.
The classic boxed style for the games feeled more like "good old gaming" times. It was kind of returning the times when tzhe newest bought game box was displayed on top pf the shelf above the Computer where friends entering the room were able to see and admire it straight away.

Edit: Also the new and updated titles were kind of easier to find in the list of boxes. Without switching to the "new and updated" view. AND it was easier so switch to the list of the updated and new. (Just one click instead of now two.)

jalister: They could save more money by not doing needless changes to the site. What is this, microsoft.com?

DCT: considering how many games they got on the site, the number of active accounts and the ammount of games per account. I really don't think it wasn't unnesscarry since I would think the old "virtual shelf" was starting to be a pain and probley was starting to become a bit of a drag on the servers as more and more people started getting accounts and more and more games were on those shelves since I know it took forever for mine shelf of 609 games to load in and I got a fairly fast connection, honestly while it was pretty to look at it wasn't viable at this stage of GOG's growth. Not saying that this is 100% the case since I don't know since I don't work on their site but it is in my experience that when you have something that image heavy it can be a drain.

If all else blame Barry and his shelf of just about every game released on GOG save for 3 or 4. It probably dragged things down the most(Just joking)
At 454 titles, I had no complaints about the library page loading. Still, allowing us the choice to choose the number of games to list on our library page shouldn't be too difficult.

INFERNO.COP: I have to say, I liked the "all wood" theme it had before. Looks too damn gray now if you ask me. Is there a theme modifier somewhere that I didn't notice yet?
I should have expected that GOG would eventually have to make the rest of the site gray to match the mess that is the home page. I've been looking at the page nearly every weekday since the change, and I still don't like it.

I dont like the way we download off the website... you guys made it annoying to use the drm-free account page... Bring back the downloader, bring back the classic game box shelf.

I think we are starting to get it. You want the drm-free option to be annoying soo everyone uses GoG Galaxy. If everyone is using GoG Galaxy then this place is just like steam meaning more publishers will sign on.

Sure they might be afraid of DRM-free but if you show them that 90% of your users use the galaxy client for achievements and auto updates it wont matter right?

"Look we do have DRM its just optional and most users use it anyway"

My favorite comment of the day.
I'm little unhappy with new look of game library. Have feeling like "Uh, I have games" instead "awesome, have nice pictures in my shelf".
Prefer old style more.
I'm neutral to the changes... but please bring those slick boxes back.
Where did "messages" go?

edit: ZenWan, if you're reading this, thanks for the Red Faction games!

(I don't get it. I go to the "messages" thingy, but what do we do with it? Can you only send messages to "friends"?)

I don't mind the changes.

i'm not happy with the new design & how its presented : basically i have the impression to have a UI designed for mobile devices , and that doesn't fit well to a desktop use in this current form.

i don't want to use a client, i didn't signed there to use one.

still the only way to fix most of the current problems is :

helping them to say what's wrong (while keeping in mind they probably won't revert to the library tin the old one)

you could still use the downloader , but it's rushed atm :

use "more" button > then open in a new tab "gog downloader links"
